YOW Surf Skateboards are built around one specific goal — generating speed and flow from the pump without needing a hill or a push. The Meraki spring-loaded front truck system creates a self-propelling pump mechanism that lets you build and maintain momentum on flat ground using the same hip-driven weight transfer you use in the ocean. On a YOW, you skate like you surf.
The Meraki system works differently to Carver's CX and C7. Rather than a pivot or compression mechanism, the Meraki uses a spring-loaded front axle that absorbs and returns energy with each pump stroke. The result is a board that generates speed efficiently from the pump and rewards a fluid, continuous riding style.
YOW decks are designed with surfboard shapes in mind — pintail outlines, directional noses and tails, concave profiles that mirror real surfboard geometry underfoot.
