Snowboarding Pants
Wet legs end a day faster than cold hands. Snowboard pants are the layer that decides whether you're still riding at 3pm or back in the lodge drying off — so waterproofing and fit matter more than most people expect. We stock shells, insulated pants and bibs from Burton, L1, ThirtyTwo and more, the full current-season range at our Richmond showroom, with free shipping Australia-wide on orders over $90.

Snowboard Pants
Wet legs end a day faster than cold hands. Snowboard pants are the layer that decides whether you're still out there at 3pm or back in the lodge drying off, so waterproofing and fit matter more than most people expect. We stock shells, insulated pants and bibs from Burton, L1, ThirtyTwo and more — the full current-season range at our Richmond showroom, with free shipping Australia-wide on orders over $90.
Shell vs insulated
Shell pants are uninsulated — pure waterproof-breathable protection you layer thermals under. They're the more versatile choice: dump heat on spring days, add a base layer when it's cold, and they pack down smaller. Insulated pants build the warmth in, which is simpler for riders who feel the cold or ride mostly cold days but gives up some temperature range. For Australian and most Japan conditions, a good shell plus a thermal layer covers the widest span of days.
Waterproofing — what the numbers mean
Waterproof ratings run in millimetres: 10,000mm is a solid all-round minimum for Australian conditions, 15,000mm and up handles heavy, wet snow and long sit-down days. Look for fully taped seams and water-resistant zips — a high fabric rating means little if water gets in through the stitching. A DWR (durable water repellent) coating on the face fabric keeps the outer from wetting out.
Fit and features
Snowboard pants should give you room to crouch, jump and ride without being sloppy — roomier than ski pants by design. Look for boot gaiters (keep snow out on deep days), thigh or inner-leg vents (dump heat on the hike or spring laps), and adjustable waist or belt loops for a dialled fit over layers. Bibs add coverage up the back for deep-snow and sit-down days and stop the gap that opens when you're reaching.
Complete the setup
Round out your outerwear with a matching jacket, add a bib for deep days, and layer with thermals underneath. Free shipping Australia-wide on orders over $90.
