Burton Step On is the step-in system that actually works — click into your bindings at three secure points and ride, with no straps to do up. It's a genuine game-changer for anyone who's tired of sitting in the snow ratcheting straps, and it's become one of the most popular setups in the sport. At Twelve Board Store we're Step On specialists — come in and try the system on properly before you buy. Authorised dealer, free shipping Australia-wide.
Step On replaces traditional strap bindings with a connection system built into matching boots and bindings. Two points at the toe and one at the heel lock you in with an audible click, and a lever on the binding releases you. There's no highback strap or ratchet — you step in standing up and go. The boots and bindings are sold as a matched system because the connection points have to line up, so you buy them together.
The big wins: speed (no sitting down to strap in), convenience (huge at the top of a lift or a cat track), and a surprisingly secure, responsive feel once you're locked in. Burton has refined the system across several generations and it now spans soft to stiff flex options for different riders.
Is Step On Right for You?
Step On suits riders who value convenience and quick entry — resort riders, anyone with dodgy knees or a bad back who hates strapping in, and riders who lap lifts all day. It's available in flex options from soft and forgiving up to stiffer, more responsive setups, so it works across ability levels. The one thing to know: because it's a matched boot-and-binding system, you're committing to the ecosystem — but once you're in, most riders don't look back. Our bindings guide covers how Step On compares to traditional bindings.
