The Triple 8 Deep Cover is Triple Eight's low-profile, deep-fitting helmet, developed from 30 years of helmet experience. It keeps a classic skate shape and slim profile while sitting lower on the back of your head. This is the Mike McGill Signature Edition, carrying McGill's iconic Skull and Snake graphic. Triple Eight teamed up with skateboarding legend Mike McGill on this one, adding another piece to his skate legacy.

Each of the four sizes gets its own ABS shell and EPS liner, so the helmet stays slim instead of padding out one big shell. Patent-pending Hidden-Hinge technology flexes inside to adjust to your head, Luxe-Lock rear liners in three densities of foam cradle the base of the skull, and a FIT KIT with 17 liners and shims lets you tune the fit to your head shape.

Size Guide

Wrap a soft tape around your head about 2cm above the eyebrows, at the widest point, and take the number in cm. Triple Eight measures from the middle of the forehead. If your measurement is at the top end of a size, Triple Eight says size up (a 54cm head goes S/M).

Each size has its own shell and liner. The 17-piece FIT KIT of liners and shims and the Hidden-Hinge system fine-tune the fit to your head shape.

Triple Eight was born on the streets of New York City and made its first helmet in 1996. It started as skate protection for people who actually ride, and that is still the whole point. Can I use the Triple 8 Deep Cover for skateboarding and bike riding?
Yes. It is certified to the US CPSC bicycle helmet standard, ASTM F1447 for recreational cycling and roller skating, and ASTM F1492 for skateboarding. CPSC 1203 and ASTM F1447 are both accepted in Australia, so it covers bikes, e-bikes and scooters as well as skate, roller skating and derby.

What size Triple 8 Deep Cover should I get?

How is the Deep Cover different from the Certified Sweatsaver?
The Deep Cover sits deeper and lower on the back of the head, uses a separate shell and liner for each of its four sizes, and adds Hidden-Hinge and the 17-piece FIT KIT. It also carries ASTM F1447 on top of CPSC and F1492. The Sweatsaver is the simpler classic with soft Sweatsaver pads.

When should I replace my helmet?
Replace it after any significant crash or hard hit to the head, even if you can't see damage. The EPS foam liner is built to crush once to absorb a big impact, so after that it won't protect you the same way. Also replace it if the shell is cracked, the foam is dented or the straps and buckle are worn.
