The Triple 8 Certified Sweatsaver is the classic Triple Eight skate lid: a classic round skate shell that looks right at the park, on the street or on the bike path. This one comes in All Black Rubber, a fully blacked-out shell with a matte rubberised finish. It suits everyone from first-day skaters to park rats who ride most days.

It combines a high-impact EPS foam liner, thick dual-density soft foam and plush Sweatsaver fabric, which Triple Eight says makes it the first helmet to bring all three together. Two sets of Sweatsaver liners come in the box so you can fine-tune the fit, and the fabric soaks up sweat so the helmet stays comfortable on long sessions.

Size Guide

Wrap a soft tape around your head about 2cm above the eyebrows, at the widest point, and take the number in cm. Triple Eight measures from the middle of the forehead. If you're between sizes or unsure, Triple Eight says size up, then use the included Sweatsaver liners to snug the fit.

Two sets of Sweatsaver liners are included to fine-tune the fit. The helmet should sit level, about two fingers above your eyebrows, and not rock when you shake your head.

Replace it after any significant crash or hard hit to the head, even if you can't see damage. The EPS foam liner is built to crush once to absorb a big impact, so after that it won't protect you the same way. Also replace it if the shell is cracked, the foam is dented or the straps and buckle are worn.

Is the Certified Sweatsaver good for roller derby?
Triple Eight lists it for roller and inline skating. It also makes a Derby Visor Crown System that converts any Certified Sweatsaver to a visor helmet, sold separately.
