Super73 Z-Miami SE Electric Bike | Palladium
Compact Electric Power. Big Super73 Style.
The Super73 Z-Miami SE in Astro Orange is the most compact bike in the Super73 range, and it is no entry-level afterthought. The SE package adds inverted air-spring front suspension, hydraulic disc brakes and MAXXIS SuperSucker fat tyres over the standard Z Miami. At 26.8 kg it is the lightest and most manoeuvrable Super73 you can buy, built for city streets, bike paths and coastal cruising where being able to flick the bike around matters as much as how it looks.
The Australian Z-Miami SE runs a 250W rear hub motor with pedal assist limited to 25 km/h, certified to EN15194 and legal to ride on public roads and paths where bicycles are permitted. The 480Wh UL2271 removable battery is rated at 40 to 56 km per charge and recharges in around 5 hours. An 8-speed drivetrain handles Melbourne hills without leaning entirely on the motor, and the Super73 Smart Display and app deliver turn-by-turn navigation, over-the-air updates and live ride data.
Twelve Board Store is an authorised Super73 dealer in Melbourne. Every bike is assembled and safety-checked in our Richmond workshop, with demo rides, fitment advice and full Australian warranty support through Ben Buckler Boards.

Real-World Range
The Z-Miami SE is rated at 40 to 56 km per charge. You will see the top of that range on flat ground in the lowest pedal assist setting with a lighter rider. Melbourne riding is rarely that kind, so in mixed city use with hills, stop-start traffic and higher assist, plan closer to the lower end. Range varies with rider weight, terrain, assist level, wind, tyre pressure and temperature. The battery is fully removable, so topping up at work or indoors overnight is straightforward.
What Is Different About the Australian Model
Super73's product photography shows US-spec bikes. The Australian Z-Miami SE differs in three ways: it runs an 8-speed drivetrain instead of a single speed, it has no chain guard as a result, and it includes orange wheel reflectors to meet local road rules. Electronically it is configured to 250W pedal assist with no throttle fitted, which is what makes it road legal here.
Australian Road Legality
In its standard configuration the Z-Miami SE is a 250W pedal-assist electric bike with a 25 km/h cut-off, certified to EN15194. That makes it legal to ride on public roads and bike paths where bicycles are permitted, with no registration or licence required. In Australia it is illegal to ride an e-bike fitted with a throttle on public roads or paths, which is why Australian Super73 models are supplied pedal assist only.
This model is covered by NSW Fair Trading Certificate No. 29542 under UL2849:2022, issued to Ben Buckler Boards Pty Ltd as the Australian distributor. That certification confirms the bike is approved as a declared electrical article and must only be used with approved Super73 batteries and chargers. Always check the e-bike rules in your own state before riding.
About Super73
Founded in California, Super73 created the moto-styled electric bike category and built a global riding community around it. The Z-Miami sits at the accessible end of the lineup, with the same low-slung banana-seat silhouette as the bigger S and R series bikes in a lighter, shorter, more manageable package. Australian stock is imported and certified by Ben Buckler Boards, independently tested to meet Australian electrical safety and e-bike standards.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Super73 Z-Miami SE road legal in Australia?
Yes. The Australian model is a 250W pedal-assist e-bike limited to 25 km/h and certified to EN15194, so it can be ridden on public roads and bike paths where bicycles are permitted, with no registration or licence needed. Check your state's specific e-bike rules before riding.
Does the Australian Z-Miami SE come with a throttle?
No. Australian Super73 bikes are supplied as pedal assist only. Riding an e-bike with a throttle fitted on Australian public roads or paths is illegal, so no throttle is fitted or offered with this bike. The motor engages when you pedal.
How far will the Z-Miami SE go on one charge?
It is rated at 40 to 56 km per charge. Expect the upper figure on flat ground in the lowest assist setting, and the lower figure in hilly, stop-start city riding with heavier assist. Recharge takes around 5 hours and the battery is removable for indoor charging.
What is the difference between the Z-Miami SE and the standard Z Miami?
The SE adds three upgrades: inverted air-spring front suspension where the standard bike is rigid, hydraulic disc brakes instead of mechanical, and MAXXIS SuperSucker fat tyres. Frame, 250W motor and 480Wh battery are shared, so the SE is the better-riding, better-stopping version of the same bike.
What height rider does the Z-Miami SE suit?
Super73 recommends riders between 140 cm and 180 cm, with a 71 cm seat height and a 147 kg rider weight limit. It is the most compact bike in the range, which makes it a genuine option for shorter riders. Taller riders are usually better on the Z Adventure or S2.
Does the Australian bike look the same as the product photos?
Not exactly. Super73's images show US-spec bikes. Australian stock runs an 8-speed drivetrain, has no chain guard as a result, and includes orange wheel reflectors for local road compliance. Everything else, including frame, colourway and components, matches what you see.
Is the Z-Miami SE certified for safety in Australia?
Yes. The battery is UL2271 certified, the bike is EN15194 certified, and the model is covered by NSW Fair Trading Certificate No. 29542 under UL2849:2022, issued to Ben Buckler Boards. Only approved Super73 batteries and chargers should be used to keep that certification valid.
Do I need to fit a bell?
Yes. The Z-Miami SE is not supplied with a bell or horn, and Australian road rules require a working warning device on any bicycle ridden in public. We stock bells that suit the Super73 bar and can fit one before you collect the bike. Just ask when you order.
Can I test ride the Z-Miami SE in Melbourne?
Yes. Visit Twelve Board Store in Richmond to ride the Z-Miami SE before you buy. Call ahead on 03 9421 2293 to confirm the bike and colourway you want are on the floor, and we will have it charged and ready to go.
What warranty does the Z-Miami SE come with?
Super73 Australia bikes carry a 2-year manufacturer warranty covering electronic and mechanical components including the battery and motor, supported by Ben Buckler Boards as the official Australian distributor. Twelve Board Store is an authorised dealer, so your warranty and servicing are handled locally.
