Pro-Tec builds the set from abrasion-resistant nylon with durable plastic caps, neoprene stretch panels and EVA padding. The knee pads have a butterfly open back, so you can put them on without taking your shoes off, and hook-and-loop closures let you dial in the fit. It all comes in a reusable mesh bag.

Size Guide

Pro-Tec sizes the Street Gear on circumference. Knees: around the thigh 10cm (4") above the knee centre and the calf 10cm below. Elbows: around the upper arm 15cm (6") above the elbow centre and the forearm 10cm below. Wrists: around the wrist. Pro-Tec's chart is in inches; we've converted to cm.

Pro-Tec's Street chart doesn't list an XL wrist size. Pads should feel snug and stay in place when you bend; loose pads can slip off the joint in a fall.

Measure your knees, elbows and wrists and match them to the chart, then pick the size that fits your knees best, since knee pads take the biggest hits. For example, a 38–43cm thigh and 28–33cm calf is a Medium. If your measurements are spread across sizes, buying the pieces separately gives the best fit.

Should I wear the knee pads over or under my pants?

Pro-Tec doesn't publish care instructions. Hand wash in cool water with mild soap, rinse and let them air dry out of the sun. Close the hook-and-loop straps first so they don't snag.

When should I replace my pads?
Replace any piece when the cap cracks or wears through, the foam feels flat or the straps stop holding. EVA compresses with hard hits, so pads that feel thin aren't protecting like new ones.
