Powell Peralta Wheels SSF Snake 66mm/82a | Blue
A firmer, quicker Snake for dancing and road feel.
The blue 66mm Snake in 82a is a firmer, smaller version of Powell's SSF longboard wheel. It's made for dancers, freestylers and cruisers who want more feedback from the road and a slightly quicker, lighter feel underfoot.
Powell's 82a SSF is grippier and more "sugary" than the 75a Snake, and Powell says the 82a resists chunking and chipping. At 66 x 46mm with a 38mm contact patch it accelerates fast and gives more feedback from the road.

About Powell Peralta
Powell Peralta was founded in 1978 by engineer George Powell and skater Stacy Peralta in Santa Barbara, California. Powell had already been baking his own urethane wheels and building his own boards since the mid 1970s, and in 1979 the pair formed the Bones Brigade, the team that included Ray "Bones" Rodriguez, Steve Caballero, Tony Hawk, Lance Mountain, Rodney Mullen, Tommy Guerrero and Mike Vallely.
Today Powell Peralta still puts a big focus on urethane research and its own wheel formulas. Dragon Formula covers street and park, while Soft Slide Formula (SSF) covers cruising, freeride and downhill. Riders pick Powell because the wheels last, roll fast and slide when you want them to, and because the brand has been part of skating for close to five decades.
FAQs
What are 66mm 82a Snakes best for?
Longboard dancing, freestyle, cruising and freeride where you want road feel. Powell says the 82a urethane is grippier than 75a, gives more road engagement and resists chunking, while the smaller size spins up quickly.
What does 82a mean?
82a is the hardness on the A scale. It's firmer than the 75a Snake and Powell describes it as grippier with more road feel, but it's still soft enough to cushion rough bitumen compared with a 99a street wheel.
Will these fit my board or do I need risers?
66mm suits most longboards and cruisers. On a top-mount board without wheel wells, add a 1/4" riser to avoid wheel bite. Drop-through boards usually need nothing.
Do they come with bearings?
No. You get a set of 4 wheels with no bearings. Any standard 608 skateboard bearing fits, so you'll need a set of 8 (two per wheel), plus spacers if your bearings don't have them built in.

Why Buy from Twelve Board Store
Twelve Board Store has been riders selling to riders since 2013. We are not a generic retail chain — we are a specialist board sports retailer built around genuine product knowledge, real rider experience and the kind of after-sales support that only comes from a team that actually uses the gear they sell.
Every brand we stock, we ride. Every recommendation we make comes from real experience — on the mountain, in the park, on the street, and on the road. When you call us, you talk to someone who has been on a snowboard at Hotham last weekend or a skateboard in the carpark this morning. That is the difference between buying from Twelve and buying from a warehouse with a website.
We offer services that no online-only retailer can match. Our in-store workshop handles snowboard waxing and tuning, boot heat moulding, electric skateboard and e-bike repairs and assembly, and warranty support handled in-house rather than shipped offshore to a call centre. If something goes wrong with your gear, we fix it. If your boots don't fit, we sort it. If you ordered the wrong size, we swap it — no questions asked.
Our showroom at 435A Bridge Road Richmond stocks the full range across snowboards, bindings, boots, skateboards, longboards, electric skateboards, e-bikes, outerwear and accessories. We offer free shipping Australia-wide on orders over $89, AfterPay and Zip for flexible payment, and fast dispatch so your gear arrives when you need it.
