Powell Peralta Wheels SSF Primo 69mm/78a | Orange
An affordable longboard wheel poured in Powell's Paster formula.
The Primo is Powell Peralta's affordable soft wheel, and this orange 69mm 78a set is made for cruising and for giving a stock complete a proper set of wheels. It suits riders who want a quality urethane without paying for a pro model.
This 78a, 69mm Primo is poured in Powell's "Paster" formula rather than the standard SSF. Extra urethane depth gives a cushioned ride and long life, and the 48mm width with 44mm contact patch keeps it stable in carves.

About Powell Peralta
Powell Peralta was founded in 1978 by engineer George Powell and skater Stacy Peralta in Santa Barbara, California. Powell had already been baking his own urethane wheels and building his own boards since the mid 1970s, and in 1979 the pair formed the Bones Brigade, the team that included Ray "Bones" Rodriguez, Steve Caballero, Tony Hawk, Lance Mountain, Rodney Mullen, Tommy Guerrero and Mike Vallely.
Today Powell Peralta still puts a big focus on urethane research and its own wheel formulas. Dragon Formula covers street and park, while Soft Slide Formula (SSF) covers cruising, freeride and downhill. Riders pick Powell because the wheels last, roll fast and slide when you want them to, and because the brand has been part of skating for close to five decades.
FAQs
What are Primo wheels best for?
Cruising and upgrading a complete. Primos carry extra urethane depth so they ride soft and last, but they're poured in Powell's freeride and downhill formulas, so they still slide well.
What does 78a mean?
78a is the hardness on the A scale. It sits between the 75a and 82a Primos, so it's soft and grippy for cruising with a touch firmer feel than the softest option.
Will 69mm wheels fit my board or do I need risers?
Most longboards, drop-throughs and boards with wheel wells take 69mm without trouble. On a top-mount cruiser without wells, add a 1/4" to 1/2" riser to prevent wheel bite.
Do they come with bearings?
No. You get a set of 4 wheels with no bearings. Any standard 608 skateboard bearing fits, so you'll need a set of 8 (two per wheel), plus spacers if your bearings don't have them built in.

Let customers speak for us
Why Buy from Twelve Board Store
Twelve Board Store has been riders selling to riders since 2013. We are not a generic retail chain — we are a specialist board sports retailer built around genuine product knowledge, real rider experience and the kind of after-sales support that only comes from a team that actually uses the gear they sell.
Every brand we stock, we ride. Every recommendation we make comes from real experience — on the mountain, in the park, on the street, and on the road. When you call us, you talk to someone who has been on a snowboard at Hotham last weekend or a skateboard in the carpark this morning. That is the difference between buying from Twelve and buying from a warehouse with a website.
We offer services that no online-only retailer can match. Our in-store workshop handles snowboard waxing and tuning, boot heat moulding, electric skateboard and e-bike repairs and assembly, and warranty support handled in-house rather than shipped offshore to a call centre. If something goes wrong with your gear, we fix it. If your boots don't fit, we sort it. If you ordered the wrong size, we swap it — no questions asked.
Our showroom at 435A Bridge Road Richmond stocks the full range across snowboards, bindings, boots, skateboards, longboards, electric skateboards, e-bikes, outerwear and accessories. We offer free shipping Australia-wide on orders over $89, AfterPay and Zip for flexible payment, and fast dispatch so your gear arrives when you need it.
Over a decade in business. More than 1,000 reviews. The most trusted specialist board store in Melbourne. If you need advice before you buy, call us on 03 9421 2293, visit us in-store, or contact us online — we'll get you sorted.
