The Tony Danza is Landyachtz's compact dancing and freestyle longboard, here in the Vibes graphic. It takes the function of the bigger Stratus and packs it into a lighter, narrower board that flips faster and with less effort. It suits riders getting into longboard dancing, technical freestyle riders, and shorter riders or kids who find full-size dance boards too big.

The 39.9" deck is 7-ply Canadian maple with a flexy, energetic feel, symmetrical twin kicktails and CNC wheel wells. Grip only covers the nose and tail, leaving the centre bare so your feet slide easily through cross-steps. It runs Bear Gen 6 Grizzly 155mm trucks and light 63mm 78a Fatty Hawgs, so it turns tight, pops easily and stays nimble.

About Landyachtz

Landyachtz was started in 1997 by childhood friends Tom Edstrand and Mike Perreten while they were studying at the University of Victoria in British Columbia, Canada. Their first production run was pressed in a ski racing shed at Blackcomb, near Whistler. The company then moved to North Vancouver, first into a family garage and then into shared space with Invasion Snowboards, and it was there Landyachtz developed its own Bear Trucks and Hawgs Wheels. Tom Edstrand went on to win the IGSA longboarding world championship in 2005.

Today Landyachtz is still skater owned and operated, based in the Strathcona neighbourhood of Vancouver. It designs its decks, trucks and wheels to work together as one complete, from compact Dinghy cruisers and surfskates to dancing boards and downhill freeride decks. What is the Landyachtz Tony Danza best for?
Longboard dancing and freestyle. The narrow width and light build make it easy to flip, spin and pivot, and the twin kicktails open up shove-its, manuals and switch riding. It also cruises and carves well when you're just getting around.

Is a 40" longboard the right size for me?
It's sized for dancing and freestyle on a lighter, more compact board. At 8.5" wide it suits average-size feet, shorter riders and kids especially well. Riders with bigger feet, or anyone wanting a roomier dance platform for long cross-step lines, should look at the 46" Stratus.

Is the Tony Danza good for beginners?
Yes, especially for anyone wanting to learn to dance or try freestyle. It's light, easy to control and forgiving, and Landyachtz built it partly to get smaller riders started. If you'll mostly cruise, consider adding grip to the bare centre for extra foot hold.
