Burton Women's Merino Blend Midweight Base Layer Crew 2027 | Airstream Blue
Soft Merino for Cold Days
The Burton Women's Merino Blend Midweight Base Layer Crew 2027 in Airstream Blue is Burton's warmest base layer, built on a soft merino and TENCEL blend. It's made for riders who feel the cold and want natural warmth that breathes from first chair to last.
Burton blends 57.6% merino wool with 38.4% TENCEL Lyocell and 4% spandex in a 245 GSM merino interlock. That gives you merino's natural temperature regulation, breathability and odour resistance, with extra softness and stretch from the TENCEL. Slim cut, flat Softlock seams and hidden thumbholes, in Airstream Blue.
Best for: riders who feel the cold, storm days and early chairs, and Japan or multi-day trips where odour resistance matters.

Built for Australian Conditions
This is the layer for cold mornings, storm days and long trips. On a bitter first chair at Hotham or a windy day on the Main Range it gives you natural warmth close to the skin, and the merino helps manage temperature when you warm up through the day. Because merino resists odour, it's a strong pick for a week in Japan or a multi-day trip where you'd rather pack fewer layers. On warm spring afternoons in Victoria and NSW it can run hot under a full jacket, so wear it with a shell and venting, or save it for the colder end of the season.
Not for you if: you run hot, mostly ride spring, or want a thinner layer that dries faster. Browse our women's thermals and use the filters to find a lighter synthetic weight.

FAQs
How does the Burton Women's Merino Blend Midweight Base Layer Crew fit?
It's a slim fit with four-way stretch, made to sit close to the skin. For reference, Burton's 175cm model wears a Small. Most riders take their usual Burton size. Call us on 03 9421 2293 or come into our Richmond showroom if you'd like to try it on.
Is merino itchy?
This is a merino blend, not pure wool. The TENCEL Lyocell gives it a soft, smooth feel and the spandex adds stretch, so most riders are comfortable wearing it next to skin. If wool usually bothers you, try it on in store first.
Merino or synthetic: which is better for me?
Merino regulates temperature naturally and resists odour, so it suits cold days and longer trips where you're re-wearing layers. Burton notes merino blend is warmer than similar-weight synthetics. Synthetic dries faster and is a good choice if you run hot.
How warm is it?
Burton rates it 1.45 out of 5 on its base layer warmth scale, which is its midweight band. It's built for cold days, and you can add a midlayer when it gets really cold.
Can I wear it off the snow?
Yes. It's a slim, soft crew that works for cold-weather hiking, travel days or as a warm layer around town in winter.
About Burton
Jake Burton Carpenter started Burton in 1977, and the brand has been driven by riders ever since. That same thinking runs through the layers that sit under your outerwear: fabric that moves with you, seams that stay out of the way, and a Lifetime Warranty behind it.

Why Buy from Twelve Board Store
Twelve Board Store has been riders selling to riders since 2013. We are not a generic retail chain — we are a specialist board sports retailer built around genuine product knowledge, real rider experience and the kind of after-sales support that only comes from a team that actually uses the gear they sell.
Every brand we stock, we ride. Every recommendation we make comes from real experience — on the mountain, in the park, on the street, and on the road. When you call us, you talk to someone who has been on a snowboard at Hotham last weekend or a skateboard in the carpark this morning. That is the difference between buying from Twelve and buying from a warehouse with a website.
We offer services that no online-only retailer can match. Our in-store workshop handles snowboard waxing and tuning, boot heat moulding, electric skateboard and e-bike repairs and assembly, and warranty support handled in-house rather than shipped offshore to a call centre. If something goes wrong with your gear, we fix it. If your boots don't fit, we sort it. If you ordered the wrong size, we swap it — no questions asked.
Our showroom at 435A Bridge Road Richmond stocks the full range across snowboards, bindings, boots, skateboards, longboards, electric skateboards, e-bikes, outerwear and accessories. We offer free shipping Australia-wide on orders over $89, AfterPay and Zip for flexible payment, and fast dispatch so your gear arrives when you need it.
Over a decade in business. More than 1,000 reviews. The most trusted specialist board store in Melbourne. If you need advice before you buy, call us on 03 9421 2293, visit us in-store, or contact us online — we'll get you sorted.
