The Bronson Raw 6 Ball bearings combine the shield-free Raw design with six larger balls instead of the standard seven. Fewer, bigger balls mean fewer contact points and less friction, plus more strength under impact. They suit skaters who want maximum roll speed and don't mind the raw hum of an open bearing.

The races are tungsten coated, a micro-thin dry lubricant that keeps things slick and resists grime, and the bearings also run high speed oil formulated to resist water, oxidation and corrosion. The Max Impact cage keeps the balls evenly spaced, deep groove raceways resist impact damage, and each set is nitrogen sealed at the factory so it's ready to ride.

FAQs

Do these fit all skateboard wheels?
Yes. They're standard 608 size skateboard bearings with an 8mm bore, so they fit almost every skateboard, cruiser and longboard wheel on a standard 8mm axle. Each wheel takes two bearings, so this set of 8 does all four wheels on one board.

Why six balls?
Six larger balls instead of seven smaller ones means fewer contact points and less friction, so the bearing rolls faster. Bigger balls also spread impacts better, which helps durability.

Do Raw bearings have an ABEC rating?
No. Bronson doesn't use ABEC, which only measures machining tolerances for industrial use. Raw bearings are built to Bronson's own skate spec, with deep groove raceways and tungsten coated races, and the shield-free design is the real point of difference.

How do I clean shieldless bearings?
With no shields to pull off, just wipe away dirt and add a drop or two of skate bearing oil when they feel dry. If they get gritty, flush them in isopropyl alcohol, dry them completely and re-oil.

Do I need spacers?
Spacers aren't listed in the pack, so add a set if you want them. Spacers sit on the axle between the two bearings in each wheel, so the bearings stay lined up when you tighten the axle nut. Lots of street skaters ride without them, but they help bearings spin freely and stop them being crushed if the nut is over-tightened.
