About Whitespace

Whitespace was founded in January 2022 by Shaun White — five-time Olympian, three-time Olympic gold medallist, and the most decorated athlete in snowboarding history — together with his older brother Jesse, who was famously the reason Shaun first switched from skiing to snowboarding as a kid. White debuted the brand's boards during his fifth and final Olympic outing at Beijing 2022, having spent years testing shapes, cores, and flex patterns of his own design after his long-running sponsorship with Burton wound down.

The name reflects White's own description: "a gap in the market, a blank canvas." Every Whitespace board carries the brand's signature white stripe down the base — a detail White first added to his own personal board years before the brand existed, wanting something cleaner than the fastest available black base material. Whitespace boards are designed and tested by White himself, built to bring his decades of competitive pipe, park, and freeride experience to riders at every level, not just the pros.

The Whitespace Snowboard Range

Whitespace's line-up centres on Shaun White's own pro-model freestyle board, alongside dedicated park, all-mountain, and powder shapes for riders and juniors alike. Here's what's in the current range:

  • Freestyle — Shaun White Pro — Shaun's own signature pipe, park, and freeride board, designed and tested by him personally. A directional twin shape with carbon construction, a responsive traditional camber profile, and VelocityEdge Control sidecut, built to hold an edge, snap through the flats, and go fast.
  • AMF Twin — Whitespace's All-Mountain Freestyle park board. High-speed pop, a forgiving flex, and total control make it happy eating up anything the park or the rest of the mountain throws at it.
  • Maax — Whitespace's newest all-mountain shape, engineered for versatility from park laps to powder lines. A dual radius sidecut and directional hybrid camber deliver precision, float, and control, backed by carbon fiberglass and an ultralight balsa and poplar core.
  • Montano — A surf-inspired directional freeride board that blurs the line between freestyle and powder charging. Directional hybrid camber and a tapered shape deliver high-speed carves on groomers and effortless float in deep snow, with a refined nose flex that reduces front-foot drag in the pow.
  • Women's Freestyle — Built for women who split their time between the park and the trees. Ultralight carbon-infused fiberglass, a premium sintered base, and a playful camber profile designed to pop off kickers and side hits with ease.
  • Youth Freestyle — Shaun White Pro — The junior version of Shaun's own pro model, sharing the same graphic package with a more responsive, forgiving flex built for younger riders learning the same pipe and park fundamentals.
