About Korua Shapes

Korua Shapes was founded by a group of travelling snowboard friends who, on a trip to Japan in 2012, were struck by the country's snow-surf culture and its boards built specifically for deep powder. Co-founder Nicholas Wolken and the rest of the crew brought that inspiration home to the Alps, launching their first line of boards in 2014 with a singular focus: making shapes that carve better than anything else on hard groomers while still floating effortlessly through powder.

Every Korua board is built around the brand's in-house "carving specific" sidecut and a wider-than-average waist width, with a notable absence of true twins across the range — carving is the whole point. True to their minimalist Swiss design roots, Korua keeps graphics deliberately restrained: white topsheet and red base for the Classic line, all-black for the premium Plus line, with no seasonal redesigns. The idea is that a Korua board never looks dated, so riders can build a quiver of shapes over time rather than chasing graphics.

The Korua Shapes Snowboard Range

Korua's range sits along a spectrum from powder-focused shapes through committed carving boards, with the premium Plus line bringing lighter, more reactive construction (including a Titanal layer in the Bullet Train Plus and Café Racer Plus) to some of the brand's most iconic outlines. Here's what's in the current line-up at Twelve Board Store:

• Café Racer — A full camber, tapered directional carving board with a stiff, supportive tail. Holds a clean line at speed like a train on tracks, and is happiest ripping fast, confident turns on groomers.
• Café Racer Plus — The premium Plus build of the Café Racer, with a Titanal layer through the core for extra dampening and precision when you're really pushing speed on hardpack.
• Dart — Korua's retro-inspired powder shape. Wide width, setback stance, and generous taper deliver effortless float in deep snow, while still carving cleanly when you're back on groomers.
• Dart Plus — The Dart's shape and dimensions in Korua's lighter, more responsive Plus construction.
• Transition Finder Plus — Korua's most versatile shape, built as a genuine melting pot of freeride, freestyle, and carving. A directional, tapered board with setback that still rides switch comfortably, in the premium Plus build.
• Otto Plus — The closest thing to a twin shape in the Korua range, built with a large tail for switch riding and terrain park laps without giving up the brand's carving DNA. A favourite for riders who want to hit the park without compromising on how the board turns.
• Bullet Train Plus — Korua's most specialised carving weapon. A Titanal layer runs through the core to virtually eliminate high-speed vibration, built for hard groomers and icy early-morning laps rather than all-mountain versatility.

Korua's sizing is rider-focused rather than a full spec sheet — each chart lists max boot size, max boot sole length, rider weight range, and max rider height for every size. Jump straight to the size chart for your board:

Korua generally recommend sizing up 2–6cm from what you'd ride on another brand, depending on the shape — the exceptions are the Otto, Transition Finder, and Dart, which run true to size.
