Which fat tyre category do you need?

We stock fat tyre e-bikes across both main categories: EN15194-certified bikes that are road and path legal across Victoria, and off-road unrestricted builds with more power and higher top speeds for private property and trail use. Both are in this collection. If compliance matters for where you plan to ride, check the EN15194 certified range specifically; if you have private land or trails and want maximum capability, look at the off-road range.

Why fat tyres?

Fat tyres give grip, stability and comfort across a mix of surfaces: sealed paths, gravel, dirt, sand, grass, tram tracks and wet roads. They absorb bumps that would rattle a skinny-tyre bike and hold a line confidently in the wet. The trade-off is a little extra weight, which the motor handles easily. For most Australian riders they are the most practical and versatile electric vehicle you can own.

What is the difference between street legal and off-road?

Street legal (EN15194-certified) bikes run a 250W motor, pedal-assist, capped at 25km/h, and are legally treated as bicycles, so you can ride them on roads, bike lanes and shared paths with no licence or registration. Off-road unrestricted bikes run higher power and top speeds with throttles, which puts them outside bicycle classification and makes them private-land and trail machines. Both are good bikes, they just do different jobs. Tell us where you want to ride and we will point you to the right category.

How far will a fat tyre e-bike go, and can it climb hills?

Range depends on battery capacity, rider weight, terrain, assist level, throttle use and temperature, and claimed figures are best-case, calculated flat with a light rider on low assist, so expect less in the real world. On hills, motor power and torque decide how confidently a bike climbs, and fat tyre e-bikes with the right spec climb comfortably. Ask us for the honest real-world figures on the model you are considering.

Do the bikes come assembled?

It depends how you get it. For local pickup we assemble and safety-check your bike free in our Richmond workshop, so it is ready to ride. For shipped orders the bike arrives around 90 percent assembled, with just a few quick finishing touches to do yourself, such as fitting the front wheel, handlebars, pedals and seat. It is straightforward with the included tools and takes most people about 15 to 20 minutes, and we are on the phone if you want a hand.

What support do you provide?

Demo bikes are available at our Richmond showroom, so you can try before you buy rather than send something back. Frosty's in-house workshop handles all service, repairs, spares and warranty support seven days a week at our Bridge Road store, and we are an authorised dealer for every brand we carry, so warranty is genuine and handled locally.
