Reverse kingpin (RKP) trucks are the standard for longboarding and carving — the geometry that gives a deep, stable, leaning turn instead of the twitchy quick turn of street trucks. If you are building or upgrading a longboard, cruiser or carver, these are the trucks you want. We stock RKP trucks from Paris, Caliber, Bear, Randal and more, shipping free on orders over $90.
Frequently Asked Questions
A truck where the kingpin faces outward away from the deck, the opposite of a street truck. This geometry gives a deep, smooth, stable leaning turn ideal for cruising, carving and downhill, which is why nearly every longboard and cruiser uses them.
Traditional kingpin (street) trucks for tricks and technical street skating: tight, quick, low. Reverse kingpin trucks for cruising, carving and covering ground: deeper turn, stable at speed. Tricks use TKP, carving uses RKP.
Match roughly to your deck width, usually 150 to 180mm for most longboards. Wider is more stable for downhill, narrower turns more sharply for carving and dancing.
Bushings are the main lever: softer for easier carving, harder for stability at speed. On some trucks the baseplate angle also matters, with higher angles turning more and lower angles more stable.
