What is Airblaster known for?

Airblaster came out of snowboarding's skate and punk crossover, and it still reads that way. The graphics are loud, the names are silly, and none of it is trying to look like ski-industry technical wear.

Underneath that, the construction is serious. This is not novelty outerwear with a joke printed on it. The waterproofing and breathability numbers stack up against brands charging considerably more, which is the reason it has lasted rather than becoming a fad.

A full base layer onesie, and the piece Airblaster is most known for. It sounds like a gimmick and it is genuinely practical: no gap at the waist, nothing riding up when you move, and one layer instead of two to pull on.

What does the range cover?

Jackets, bibs, pants, base layers and accessories. The outerwear leans toward a relaxed, roomier cut that suits layering and matches how most snowboarders actually want to wear it, rather than the trim alpine fit skiing tends toward.

Does it hold up in Australian conditions?

This is where the technical side earns its keep. Australian snow is wet, heavy and variable, and it finds the weak point in anything underspecced.

Check the waterproof rating on the specific piece rather than assuming across the range, the same as you would with any brand. For regular Australian riding you want 15K or better, and for wet days or heavy park use go higher.

How does the fit run?

Relaxed. If you are used to a trim technical shell, an Airblaster piece in your usual size will feel roomier. That is deliberate and most riders want it, but size accordingly if you prefer a closer fit, and factor in the layers you will wear underneath.
