Bushings are the small urethane cushions inside your trucks that determine how your board turns. The stock bushings on most trucks are functional but generic, so swapping them is one of the cheapest ways to tune exactly how your board responds to your weight and riding style. We stock bushings across the hardness range from Bones, Independent, Venom and more.
Frequently Asked Questions
Softer (78a to 87a) for easy, carvy turning and lighter riders; medium (88a to 92a) for a versatile middle ground; harder (90a to 96a) for stability, heavier riders and higher speeds. Rider weight matters as much as preference.
Their shape changes the feel. Most riders run a harder cone on top and softer barrel on the bottom for easy turn with good rebound. Barrel-barrel is more stable for downhill; cone-cone is looser and more reactive.
When trucks feel sloppy or the bushings look cracked even after adjusting the kingpin, or when you cannot get the turn feel you want. Bushings compress and crack over time. Fresh ones cost a couple of dollars and transform how a board rides.
Most standard skateboard bushings fit most standard trucks, though some brands use their own shapes and longboard trucks take larger bushings. Bring your trucks in if unsure and we will match the right ones.
