Which accessories actually make a difference?
Accessories are the small-ticket items with an outsized effect on how your setup performs. A stomp pad stops your back foot sliding off the board when you skate off the chairlift. Fresh wax keeps your base gliding instead of dragging. A tool in your pocket means a loose binding gets fixed on the hill rather than ending your day.
None of it is glamorous, and most of it costs less than a lift ticket.
Do you need a stomp pad?
If you are new, yes, and it is the first thing to add to a setup. Every time you get off a chairlift you are riding with only your front foot strapped in, and a bare topsheet under a wet boot has almost no grip. A stomp pad is the difference between skating away cleanly and sliding off your own board in front of the lift queue.
Crab Grab makes the most popular options and we carry the full range.
How often should you wax your snowboard?
More often than most people do. Every five or six days of riding is a reasonable guide, but the real test is the base itself. If it looks chalky and white, particularly along the edges, it is dry and it is slowing you down.
Wax matters more here than it does in dry climates, because Australian snow is wet and heavy. A dry base grabs in slush in a way that genuinely changes how the board rides. If you would rather not do it yourself, our workshop handles hot waxing and full tunes.
What should live in your jacket pocket?
- A multi-tool sized for binding hardware. Bindings work loose, and never at a convenient moment.
- A spare goggle lens if the light is likely to change, which in Australia it usually is.
- A scraper or small wax block for long days in wet snow.
Which accessory brands do we carry?
Dakine, Crab Grab, One Ball Jay, Demon and more, across stomp pads, wax, tools, tuning kits and protection. Authorised dealer, so everything is genuine.
