Frequently Asked Questions

For cruising and commuting, 32 to 40 inches is the sweet spot. Longer and wider is more stable; shorter and narrower turns more easily. Beginners generally do better on wider, more stable setups. Come in and we will match you to the right size.

Yes. The larger wheelbase and bigger wheels make them more stable and easier to balance than a regular skateboard, which makes them an excellent start for anyone who wants to ride and cruise rather than do tricks.

Size and intent. Cruisers are shorter (28 to 34 inches) and more manoeuvrable for tight urban riding, with kicktails for pivoting. Longboards are longer (36 inches and up), more stable, and suit distance, carving and downhill. The line blurs at the shorter end.

Yes. A drop-through or drop-deck setup on a 36 to 40 inch board is excellent for commuting: stable, comfortable on rough ground and efficient over distance. A Dinghy or Tugboat suits tighter urban environments.

A helmet at minimum. Wrist guards significantly reduce the most common longboarding injury, and knee pads and slide gloves are worth it for freeride and downhill.
