What is in the Amp'd Bros range?

How do you choose the right Amp'd Bros?

Start with frame style: step-through (the Ace S) is easiest to get on and off and very comfortable, while step-over (the Ace X) is sportier. Then intended use: on-road commuting versus off-road and private-land fun drives which model and power level is right, and its legal status. Motor power determines both hill performance and road-legal status, and dual suspension (Pro Dual) plus hydraulic brakes add comfort and stopping power on a capable fat-tyre bike. Is an Amp'd Bros road legal in Australia?

In Australia an e-bike is only road-legal as a bicycle if it meets specific power and control limits, generally a 250W pedal-assist motor cutting off at 25km/h (the EN15194 standard). The Amp'd Bros range includes road-legal-compliant models as well as higher-powered models intended for off-road and private-land use. Which is right depends on where and how you will ride, and the rules vary by state and do change. Not sure which is road-legal for your situation? How do you care for the battery?

Charge with the supplied charger, avoid long-term storage fully flat or fully charged, do not charge unattended overnight, and keep it out of extreme heat. Genuine product from an authorised dealer means a battery you can trust, which is a key reason to buy local on a purchase like this. If a battery ever swells, smells or behaves oddly, stop using it and bring it in.

Do Amp'd Bros bikes come assembled?

It depends how you get it. For local pickup we assemble and safety-check your Amp'd Bros free in our Richmond workshop, so it is ready to ride. For shipped orders the bike arrives around 90 percent assembled, with just a few quick finishing touches to do yourself, such as fitting the front wheel, handlebars, pedals and seat. It is straightforward with the included tools and takes most people about 15 to 20 minutes, and Frosty's workshop is on the phone if you want a hand.
