Skateboard trucks from the brands that define the category — Independent, Thunder, Venture, Ace and more. Trucks connect your deck to your wheels and decide how your board turns, grinds and feels, so getting the width and setup right matters. We stock full ranges across every size, and if you are unsure what suits your deck and your skating, come into our Richmond store and we will sort it in a minute.
Frequently Asked Questions
Match truck width to deck width. As a guide, an 8.0 inch deck takes a 139 Independent (or equivalent), 8.25 to 8.5 takes a 149, and 8.5 and up takes a 159. Each brand numbers its sizes differently, so match to your deck width and ask us if you are unsure.
Personal preference. Most street skaters run tighter for stability on landings; transition and cruiser riders run looser for easier carving. Adjust with the kingpin nut, and fine-tune further with different bushings.
Independent is the benchmark and skated by more pros than any other. Thunder is lighter and quicker-turning, Venture is a reliable mid-range option, and Ace has a distinctive feel popular in transition. All are quality; it comes down to feel and preference.
The urethane pieces that let the truck pivot. They are the cheapest way to change how your trucks feel: softer for easier carving, harder for stability at speed. New bushings fix trucks that feel too loose or stiff even after adjusting the kingpin.
Years. Trucks are the most durable part of a setup, though grinding wears the hangers and axles over time. Replace worn bushings when the turn feels sloppy, and swap axle nuts and washers as they wear.
