The Anti Hero story

Founded by Julien Stranger under San Francisco's Deluxe Distribution, Anti Hero has always stood against the polish and marketing gloss of mainstream skating. The whole brand is a statement that skating is about going out and skating hard, for its own sake. The team (Grant Taylor, Tony Trujillo, Frank Gerwer and more) is among the most respected and hard-charging anywhere, and the graphics and videos carry a distinct dark humour. It is a brand core skaters hold in genuinely high regard.

What is Anti Hero known for?

Durable, no-frills decks built to be skated hard, across team models, the classic eagle and Grimple graphics, and a range of shapes. They are known for solid 7-ply maple construction, good pop and concave, and a tough street-and-transition focus. If you want a deck with real skate credibility and zero pretension, this is it.

Are Anti Hero decks good for beginners?

Yes. Although the brand's roots are in hard, advanced skating, the decks themselves are quality 7-ply maple that suit any level. A beginner gets a tough, well-shaped board that will take a beating while they learn, and the credibility does not hurt either. What size Anti Hero deck should you get?

Deck width follows shoe size and how you skate more than height. Around 8.0 to 8.25 inch is the versatile all-round range for street and park; wider (8.25 and up) suits transition, bowl and larger riders.
