Z-Flex Bamboo Cruiser | 29"
Venice Beach illustration on a natural bamboo veneer.
The Bamboo Cruiser is from Z-Flex's first Bamboo range. Instead of leaving the bamboo plain, Z-Flex prints illustrations of Venice Beach and Santa Monica Pier surf culture over the natural veneer, so it looks like nothing else on the rack. It's a classic cruiser shape for riders of any level who want something a little different.
The 7-ply deck runs 5" powder-coated Z-Flex trucks with soft 90A cushions and 14mm riser blocks. Soft 63mm 83A Z-Smooth wheels give a smooth, quiet roll on most concrete, so it's an easy board for daily trips, beach paths and surf checks. It's compact and light enough to carry anywhere.

About Z-Flex
Z-Flex is one of skateboarding's original brands. It was started in 1976 by Kent Sherwood, Jay Adams's stepfather, a fibreglass craftsman who had been building boards for the Zephyr team in Dogtown, the Santa Monica and Venice Beach stretch of the California coast. When Sherwood split from Zephyr he took Jay Adams and a handful of Z-Boys with him under the name EZ-Ryder, and within six months the brand became Z-Flex.
Z-Flex lays claim to the first skateboard with a concave top and to a smoother-riding wheel that helped shape the soft wheels most riders use today. Its current range still draws straight from that history: the P.O.P, Ruins to Roses, Banana Train, Surf-a-gogo and Aragon Cheetah series all take their stories from Pacific Ocean Park and the Dogtown scene. Riders choose Z-Flex for easy-riding cruisers, longboards and surfskates with real heritage, set up to be fun from the first push.
FAQs
What is the Z-Flex Bamboo Cruiser best for?
Relaxed cruising with a look that stands out. The soft 63mm wheels and riser blocks make it smooth over rough concrete, and the compact deck is easy to carry and quick to turn. It's great for beach paths, the shops and surf checks.
Is a 29" cruiser the right size for me?
This is a compact cruiser that suits kids, teens and most adults who want an easy board to carry. At 29" long and 7.5" wide with a 15.75" wheelbase, it's quick and nimble rather than roomy. If you want more width under your feet, look at the 31" Z-Flex 80s boards or a 38" pintail.
Is the Bamboo Cruiser good for beginners?
Yes. Z-Flex designed it for all levels, and the soft wheels and 90A cushions make it forgiving and easy to steer. It's a good first board for pushing, carving and learning to stop.
Cruiser vs skateboard: what's the difference?
A cruiser is built for rolling, not flip tricks. The Bamboo Cruiser runs soft 63mm 83A Z-Smooth wheels on riser blocks, so it's smoother, quieter and grippier on rough footpaths than a street skateboard's small hard wheels. The shape is made for comfortable pushing and carving, with a kicktail for kick turns and getting up kerbs.
Can I commute on the Bamboo Cruiser?
Yes, for short trips. The soft 63mm wheels handle most footpaths and the deck is small enough to carry on public transport. For longer or rougher commutes, a longboard with 69mm wheels will be more comfortable.
Does it come ready to ride?
Yes. It arrives fully assembled with griptape, trucks, wheels and bearings installed. Just check the truck tightness suits you and go ride.
