Pro Tec B2 Bike (Ex display)
Pro-Tec's classic skate-style B2 shell at an ex-display price.
The Pro-Tec B2 is an older Pro-Tec model with the classic round skate-style shell riders know the brand for. This one is ex-display old stock with some very minor scratches and a worn box; the helmet itself is in good working order. It's for riders who want the classic Pro-Tec skate look.
It has a hard outer shell over a foam liner with a padded interior. Pro-Tec no longer lists the B2, so we can't confirm its certification from the brand. That's why we don't sell it as a bike helmet; check the label inside for any standard it lists.

Size Guide
Wrap a soft tape around your head about 2cm above the eyebrows, over the widest point at the back. Pro-Tec recommends sizing up if you measure at the top of a range and says riders usually find the larger size more comfortable.
| Size | Head circumference | Inches |
|---|---|---|
| S | 54–56cm | 21.3–22" |
| M | 56–58cm | 22–22.8" |
| L | 58–60cm | 22.8–23.6" |
| XL | 60–62cm | 23.6–24.4" |
Shell-sized with no dial. Chart is Pro-Tec's current adult helmet chart. The pads should feel snug all round with no rocking.
About Pro-Tec
Pro-Tec has been protecting skaters since 1973 and is one of the most recognisable names in skate and BMX protection. Its Street pads have been around for decades and are still the pad most skaters picture when they think of knee and elbow pads. Pro-Tec says its Street elbow is the pad used by Bucky Lasek, Christian Hosoi and Lincoln Ueda, and its team list runs from Steve Caballero and Steve Alba to Sakura Yosozumi and Australia's own Poppy Starr Olsen, with snowboard legend Todd Richards on the snow side.
Today Pro-Tec is known for no-fuss protection that does the job: tough nylon outers, plastic caps and EVA foam on the Street range, heavier ballistic builds with replaceable caps on the Vert range, and slim neoprene wrist guards for snowboarding. Riders choose Pro-Tec because it fits well, lasts and has been part of skate culture for over 50 years.
FAQs
Can I use the Pro-Tec B2 for skateboarding and bike riding?
We can't confirm this older B2's certification from Pro-Tec, so we don't sell it as a bike, e-bike or scooter helmet, and we can't confirm a skate standard either. Check the sticker inside for any standard it lists. In Australia a bike helmet must meet an accepted standard such as AS/NZS 2063, EN 1078 or CPSC 1203. For legal bike riding, choose one of our certified Pro-Tec helmets like the Classic Certified.
What size Pro-Tec B2 should I get?
Measure around your head about 2cm above the eyebrows and match it to the chart: S 54–56cm up to XL 60–62cm. If you're at the top of a range, Pro-Tec recommends going up a size. It should sit level and feel snug with no rocking.
When should I replace my helmet?
Replace it after any significant crash or hard hit, even if you can't see damage. Also replace it if the shell cracks, the foam is dented or the strap and buckle are worn.
What does ex display mean for this helmet?
It's been on display in store, so it has some very minor scratches and the box is quite worn. The helmet itself is in good working order. Check the inside label for the manufacture date and any standard it lists.

Why Buy from Twelve Board Store
Twelve Board Store has been riders selling to riders since 2013. We are not a generic retail chain — we are a specialist board sports retailer built around genuine product knowledge, real rider experience and the kind of after-sales support that only comes from a team that actually uses the gear they sell.
Every brand we stock, we ride. Every recommendation we make comes from real experience — on the mountain, in the park, on the street, and on the road. When you call us, you talk to someone who has been on a snowboard at Hotham last weekend or a skateboard in the carpark this morning. That is the difference between buying from Twelve and buying from a warehouse with a website.
We offer services that no online-only retailer can match. Our in-store workshop handles snowboard waxing and tuning, boot heat moulding, electric skateboard and e-bike repairs and assembly, and warranty support handled in-house rather than shipped offshore to a call centre. If something goes wrong with your gear, we fix it. If your boots don't fit, we sort it. If you ordered the wrong size, we swap it — no questions asked.
Our showroom at 435A Bridge Road Richmond stocks the full range across snowboards, bindings, boots, skateboards, longboards, electric skateboards, e-bikes, outerwear and accessories. We offer free shipping Australia-wide on orders over $89, AfterPay and Zip for flexible payment, and fast dispatch so your gear arrives when you need it.
Over a decade in business. More than 1,000 reviews. The most trusted specialist board store in Melbourne. If you need advice before you buy, call us on 03 9421 2293, visit us in-store, or contact us online — we'll get you sorted.
