Bones Bearing Spacer
The small part that keeps your bearings lined up and rolling free.
The Bones Bearing Spacer is a single aluminium spacer that sits on the axle between the two bearings inside each wheel. It's for any skater whose bearings don't have built-in spacers and who wants a smoother, quieter roll.
With a spacer in place, you can snug the axle nut down without crushing the bearings sideways. The bearings stay square to the axle, so they spin longer and last longer. It's a cheap part that makes a real difference on any 8mm axle.

About Bones
Bones Bearings comes from George Powell, the engineer who co-founded Powell Peralta in 1978. In the early 1980s he went looking for a faster, tougher skateboard bearing and worked with a small Swiss manufacturer to build one for skating rather than for machinery. That bearing became Bones Swiss, and the thinking behind it became the Bones Skate Rated standard.
Today Bones Bearings is part of the Skate One family in Santa Barbara, California, alongside Powell Peralta and Bones Wheels. The range runs from everyday Reds through Super Reds, Big Balls and Race Reds up to ceramic and Swiss-made bearings, all built to Skate Rated clearances, tolerances, materials and lubricant. Riders choose Bones because they roll well, last, and are easy to clean and service.
FAQs
Do I need bearing spacers?
They're optional but recommended unless your bearings have built-in spacers. A spacer stops the bearings being squeezed together when you tighten the axle nut, so they roll faster and last longer.
How many do I need for one board?
Four. This is a single spacer and each wheel takes one, so order four to do a full board.
Will it fit my wheels and trucks?
Yes, on standard skateboard setups. It suits 8mm axles and 608-size bearings, which is what almost every skateboard wheel and truck uses.
Do I need speed washers too?
Yes, for best results. A speed washer goes on each side of the wheel, between the bearing and the hanger and between the bearing and the axle nut. With the spacer inside, that keeps everything square.
Can I use it with built-in spacer bearings?
No need. Bearings with built-in spacers already do this job, and adding a separate spacer can stop the wheel seating properly.

Why Buy from Twelve Board Store
Twelve Board Store has been riders selling to riders since 2013. We are not a generic retail chain — we are a specialist board sports retailer built around genuine product knowledge, real rider experience and the kind of after-sales support that only comes from a team that actually uses the gear they sell.
Every brand we stock, we ride. Every recommendation we make comes from real experience — on the mountain, in the park, on the street, and on the road. When you call us, you talk to someone who has been on a snowboard at Hotham last weekend or a skateboard in the carpark this morning. That is the difference between buying from Twelve and buying from a warehouse with a website.
We offer services that no online-only retailer can match. Our in-store workshop handles snowboard waxing and tuning, boot heat moulding, electric skateboard and e-bike repairs and assembly, and warranty support handled in-house rather than shipped offshore to a call centre. If something goes wrong with your gear, we fix it. If your boots don't fit, we sort it. If you ordered the wrong size, we swap it — no questions asked.
Our showroom at 435A Bridge Road Richmond stocks the full range across snowboards, bindings, boots, skateboards, longboards, electric skateboards, e-bikes, outerwear and accessories. We offer free shipping Australia-wide on orders over $89, AfterPay and Zip for flexible payment, and fast dispatch so your gear arrives when you need it.
