Frequently Asked Questions

No, that is a common myth. Plenty of fat tyre e-bikes are fully street legal. A fat tyre bike is exactly as legal as any other bike, as long as it meets the street legal spec. We stock street legal fat tyre e-bikes across our brands, as well as off-road models for riders who want more power.

In Australia a street legal e-bike is EN15194-certified: a 250W motor, pedal-assist, with the motor cutting off at 25km/h. A bike that meets that spec is treated the same as a regular bicycle, so no licence and no registration. The fat tyres make no difference to that.

Yes, across our brands, alongside higher-powered off-road models. If you would like a hand working out which model suits what you are after, give us a call and we will talk it through.

It depends on battery capacity, rider weight, terrain, throttle use, assist level and temperature. Claimed range figures are best-case, calculated on flat ground with a light rider on low assist. Ask us for the honest real-world figure on the model you are considering.

Yes. Motor power and torque decide how confidently a bike handles hills, and fat tyre e-bikes with the right spec climb comfortably. Tell us your terrain and we will make sure the model suits.

Fat tyres give grip, stability and comfort across a mix of sealed roads, gravel, dirt, tram tracks and sand. They absorb bumps that would rattle a skinny-tyre bike and hold a line confidently in the wet. The trade-off is a little extra weight, which the motor handles easily.

Most fat tyre e-bikes charge in a few hours from flat, and a quality battery lasts years if looked after. Charge with the supplied charger, avoid storing fully flat or fully charged for long periods, and keep it out of extreme heat. Genuine batteries from an authorised dealer are far safer and longer-lasting than cheap grey imports.

Yes. Every bike is professionally assembled and safety-checked in our Richmond workshop before pickup or dispatch. No flat-pack guesswork, no half-torqued brakes.

Yes. Frosty's in-house workshop handles servicing, repairs, spare parts and warranty seven days a week in Richmond. We are an authorised Australian dealer for every brand we carry, so warranty is genuine and handled locally.

Yes. We keep demo bikes at our Richmond showroom. On a purchase this size, riding one tells you more than any spec sheet.

Super73, Fatboy, FlightRisk and Amp'd Bros. We are the official Melbourne Super73 dealer and an authorised Australian dealer for every brand, which means genuine product, valid warranty and no grey-import risk.
