Try Before You Buy — Demo Electric Bikes and Boards at Our Melbourne Showroom

Buying an electric bike or electric skateboard online without riding it first is a significant gamble. The feel of an electric board — how it accelerates, how it brakes, how it carves — is not something a spec sheet communicates. The weight of an e-bike, how it handles at low speed, how the motor assist feels at different levels — these things matter enormously and you cannot know them without riding.

We are the only board sport store in Melbourne with a proper electric demo setup. Come in, try the boards and bikes we stock, and make the right call before you spend.

Electric Skateboard Demos

We have demo boards available for the key models in our electric skateboard range. Rather than just showing you the board on a shelf, we get you rolling on it — around our carpark or on the street outside our Richmond store — so you can feel what the board actually does before you commit.

Evolve GTR Bamboo and Carbon — the difference between the Bamboo and Carbon is immediately obvious on a demo. The Bamboo has flex that absorbs road vibration and gives a more surf-like carve feel. The Carbon is stiffer and more responsive at speed. Spec sheets say this. Riding both makes it a clear decision.

Onewheel GT and GT S-Series — the Onewheel is the board that requires the most explanation before a first ride, and the one where a demo makes the biggest difference. We walk you through the basics, get you on it, and give you the space to find the balance point. Most people who try a Onewheel for fifteen minutes want one. Some people try it and decide it is not for them. Either outcome is useful information before spending over $2,000.

Evolve with all-terrain wheels — if you want to see the difference between street wheels and all-terrain pneumatic wheels on the same board, we can show you that too. Same board, completely different surface capability.

Come in during store hours. No appointment needed for a board demo. If you want dedicated time with Frosty to go through a specific board in detail, calling ahead means we can make sure he is available.

Electric Bike Demos

Demo bikes are available for the key models in our fat tyre e-bike range. This matters more for e-bikes than almost any other product we sell because the riding experience varies significantly between models — geometry, motor feel, weight distribution and handling character are all different enough that riding before buying is genuinely important.

Fatboy V2 series — the Bagus, Harlem and Scrambler V2 all have demo bikes in store. The Bafang motor on the V2 has a particular pedal-assist feel — smooth, well-calibrated, not the abrupt surge some cheaper hub motors produce. Riding it makes the quality of the motor response immediately apparent.

Super73 — the long and low motorcycle-inspired geometry feels very different to a standard upright e-bike. The demo ride clarifies whether the ergonomics and ride position suit you before you commit to the purchase.

FlightRisk — demo bikes available for our FlightRisk range. The power output of these unrestricted builds is meaningfully different to EN15194 certified bikes. Riding one makes the performance category distinction tangible rather than theoretical.

For e-bike demos, we recommend calling ahead so we can confirm the specific model you want to try is available and fully charged. E-bike demos take a little longer than board demos and we want to give you proper time on the bike rather than a rushed loop around the block.

Why We Run a Demo Centre

We run demos because we think buying expensive gear without trying it is a bad idea — and because we are confident enough in what we stock to let you ride it before you decide. If something is not right for you on the demo, we would rather you know that before you hand over money than after.

Most electric retailers in Australia do not offer demos. They sell online, ship the product, and deal with returns if something is not right. We would rather get it right the first time. That means a demo, a proper conversation about how you plan to use the bike or board, and a recommendation based on your actual situation rather than what is easiest to sell.

Frosty runs our in-house electric workshop at the same address. If something needs servicing after your purchase, you come back to the same place. We are not a warehouse operation — we are a store where riders sell to riders and back what we sell with real support.
