What is the Setup Builder?

The Setup Builder is a free sizing tool from Twelve Board Store that recommends snowboards and matching bindings based on your actual measurements and riding style — not just a generic size chart. It checks your boot size against board and binding width, cross-references your height and weight against each board's own engineered weight range, and adjusts for whether you ride park, powder, freeride or all-mountain. Every board and binding it recommends is pulled live from our current range, so what you see is what we actually stock.

How do I use the Setup Builder?

  1. Boot size — enter your US boot size and select men's or women's sizing. This determines whether you need a wide board and binding.
  2. Height & weight — used to calculate your ideal board length.
  3. Riding style — beginner, intermediate or advanced, so the tool can size you appropriately for your skill level.
  4. Terrain — tell us where you ride most (all-mountain, park, freeride, powder or resort) and we'll adjust our picks accordingly — for example, powder riders typically size up, park riders size down.
  5. Get your boards — we'll show up to three snowboards that fit your criteria, each paired with a compatible binding, ready to add to your cart.

When should I contact the store?

The Setup Builder covers the vast majority of standard adult setups, but a few situations are better handled by our team directly:

  • Your measurements fall outside our standard sizing range (for example, very light or very heavy riders) — the tool will flag this and suggest contacting us.
  • Nothing shows up as in stock — the tool will still show you the boards that would suit you best, marked "out of stock," so you have something concrete to ask us about when you call or visit.
  • You're after a splitboard, kids' setup, or a highly specific/custom configuration — these benefit from a conversation with one of our snowboard specialists.
  • You're between sizes or unsure about fit — our in-store team heat-moulds every boot for free and sets up every binding to your stance before you leave, so if you're on the fence, come see us in person.
