The YES story

YES was founded in 2009 by a group of professional snowboarders, including DCP (David Carrier-Porcheron), Romain De Marchi and JP Solberg, who wanted a rider-owned brand focused purely on how boards feel on snow rather than on marketing. That founding ethos still defines YES: shapes with genuine character, built by people who ride them hard, with a strong following among riders who have tried everything and come back to how a YES board carves and floats.

Which YES board should you get?

• Basic — the do-everything all-mountain twin and a brilliant one-board quiver. The natural starting point in the range.
• Standard — steps up the performance for stronger all-mountain riders wanting more drive.

What is CamRock and UnderBite?

Two of the technologies that give YES boards their feel. CamRock is a camber-rocker-camber profile, camber underfoot for pop and edge hold with rocker between the feet for forgiveness and float, which is why so many YES boards feel both lively and easy. UnderBite is a subtle notch in the sidecut at each foot that pulls the contact points in for extra bite on hardpack, genuinely useful on the firm, icy mornings common in Australia. Who is YES for?

Riders who care about feel and want a board with character rather than a generic shape. There is a YES for most levels, from the forgiving Basic that suits improvers through to the PYL for advanced freeride, but the brand particularly rewards riders who have some experience and want to feel the difference a well-shaped board makes. If you are chasing a one-board quiver with genuine all-mountain ability, the Basic is one of the best going.

How should you size a YES board?

Standard sizing by weight, height and riding style applies across most of the range, with the powder shapes (420, PYL) often ridden slightly shorter for manoeuvrability given their extra width and float.
