Goodtimes In The Aussie Backcountry

Last Saturday we headed out to the Dead Horse Gap area in Kosciuszko National Park.  If you have never been, backcountry adventuring the Australian Main Range will blow you away.  Here are a few pics from the Saturday adventure we had with an epic crew. We started off at Dead Horse Gap, toured up to South Rams Head and took a run on the upper face. Took a run long run down to Bogong Creek then toured back up to Rams head. Took another long run down to Bogong Creek. Walked the 'tightrope' across the creek. Walked / Bush bashed out, incredibly avoided all being bitten by brown snakes then rode down dead horse gap to the car. Beers & debrief at the car. Done and dusted. Once again thanks to all for coming out and to Nate and Phootstep Films for the expertise.

Heading out to enjoy the backcountry is so fun but also has it’s element of danger. We were fully equipped with all the right gear including beacons, poles and probes as well as plenty of food and water.  We were lucky to have an expirienced guide who knew the area like the back of his hand.  If you want to get out and do this make sure you do your research, plan and be safe.
