Frequently Asked Questions

Baggy and street-influenced gives maximum movement and is the park and freestyle default, and it is more forgiving between sizes. Regular fit suits most all-mountain riders. A trimmer technical fit suits touring and high-output riding where excess fabric catches on packs.

10K is the minimum for regular Australian riding, and 15K to 20K if you ride wet days or put in heavy park sessions. Pants sit closer to the snow than anything else you wear, so they take more direct contact than your jacket does.

Size them over the base layer you actually ride in, not over jeans in the shop. Sizing also runs differently between brands, so call us or come into the Richmond showroom if you are between sizes.

L1, Burton, Airblaster and Yuki Threads, covering technical bibs through to relaxed street-influenced pants. L1 is a strong all-round default, Yuki Threads is Australian designed so the sizing suits us, and Burton spans the widest range of price and spec.

Pants are quicker on and off and are the familiar choice. Bibs extend coverage up the torso and seal snow out entirely, so they are warmer and more watertight at the cost of some convenience. If you ride powder or spend time on the ground, bibs are worth it.
