The 2027Lib-Tech Apex Orca II is the top of the line, ultra lightweight and snappy dream board for Travis Rice. Taking everything you love about the floaty, fun to ride Orca and adding a switch friendly power kink tail, you can have peace of mind when you need to ride out of sketchy situations or land a floaty back one switch or get the needed power and pop to bust a last second ollie over any obstacle in your way. With futuristic looking unidirectional carbon and the all new 'Anti Matter' 3-D tip and tail for less swing-weight, everyones favourite apex predator just evolved into its final form.
* Due to the volume shift on this board, we recommend you ride this board 3-6cm shorter than your normal board. *
Board Type:Freeride-Powder
Freeride snowboards are built for steeper, off-piste terrain. These boards are ideal for aggressive riding and usually for more advanced riders.
Powder snowboards are designed for deep snow. Generally these boards feature a directional shape with a tapered tail for better float and ease of riding.
Flex: 6/10 (1=soft, 10=stiff)
Offering a balanced blend of flexibility and stiffness, mid-flex boards are versatile and suitable for all-mountain riding. They provide enough responsiveness for carving while maintaining some forgiveness for playful or casual riding.
Ability Level: Advanced
Advanced snowboards are stiffer and more responsive, designed for high-speed control, precision riding, and handling challenging terrain or tricks.
Shape:Tapered Directional
A tapered directional snowboard features a shape where the tail is narrower than the nose, providing enhanced control and stability in deeper snow. This design improves floatation in powder and allows for smoother turns, making it ideal for freeride and backcountry riding. While it excels in one direction, the taper helps the board naturally guide you through challenging conditions.
Camber Type:Orca C2x Directional
Lengthened camber in the nose and tail with a shortened rocker in the nose offers extreme control, precision, and float all over the mountain.
Width: Standard
Standard width boards deliver exceptional edge-to-edge quickness and responsiveness while providing enough platform space for riders with average boot sizes.
Inserts: 2x4 Inserts
These offer a tighter hole pattern, allowing for more precise stance adjustments. They're common on modern boards and ideal for riders who want fine-tuned positioning and can be used with any binding with a standard or mini disk.
Board Construction
Topsheet:Eco Sublimated Bio Beans Topsheet
This topsheet is made using an eco-friendly sublimation and adhesive that are both strong and environmentally friendly.
Laminate:Unidirectional Carbon, 30° Carbon Mega X, Magnesium Techno Fiber Bands
Light and strong carbon fiber running tip to tail offering stiffness, pop, and power. The addition of 14 strands of Carbon fiber 30° creates a more torsionally rigid board and high magnesium contend glass fiber offers more tensile strength without being too heavy.
Core: TP - Techno Pop Construction Core
The lightest, most environmentally nice, and liveliest construction Lib Tech makes. Made of 30% Aspen, 25% Paulownia, and 45% Recycled PET Plastic Bottles.
Sidewall:Birch Internal, UHMW Sintered Sidewall
Durable, high-impact ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene. It delivers exceptional impact resistance, superior resilience, and a smooth, damped ride.
Base:Sintered Knife Cut Base
This base is made of a fast sintered material with a die-cut base to reduce waste.
Additional Features:
Magne-Traction
Seven strategically placed serrations along the edges of the board grip onto the snow and hold a strong edge in any condition.
UHMW Tip/Tail Impact Deflection
By removing the edge around the nose and tail and replacing it with UHMW material, you no longer need to worry about running your nose and tail into objects and damaging the edge. This makes it easy to repair and reduce swing weight.
Lightweight Spin Slim
By tapering the tip and tail of the board you get a board that is lighter and offers less swing weight.
Anti-Matter
3-D carbon reinforced and spin weight reducing absence of material in the tip and tail.

The guys at Twelve Boards just helped me to purchase three new Carver surf skates for my self and two sons, they helped advise me on what would work best for all of us as we are all at different heights, weights and ability levels, unlike other shops/websites you get to talk with experienced people that know their stuff. I got a great price and the boards turned up quickly and packed really well with no damage. Couldn’t be happier with the service and gear, very happy to recommend this business to anyone interested in these sort of sports. My next purchase will be snowboards and I will be going through Twelve Boards for that purchase also. Great shop.
There is a reason I always keep coming back to Twelve, the service and the brands. The team are super helpful, patient and don't push their preferences, they listen to your needs and experiences and help you decide from there.
Had a couple of Jones boards previously and they recommended the Howler. Who am I to say no!
I purchased two Jones snowboards on-line for my next trip to Japan. Ordering through Twelve snowboards was a smooth experience and they kept me up to date with my order from the time I placed the order to delivery. I would highly recommend Twelve for the best gear, customer service and I wouldn't hesitate to order through them again. Thanks guys!
Lib Tech snowboards are built by Mervin Manufacturing in Sequim, Washington — the only major snowboard company still handmaking boards in the United States. While every other major brand shifted production to Asia, Lib Tech stayed. The result is tighter quality control, faster innovation, and boards built by the same riders who test them in the mountains of the Pacific Northwest. The 2027 Lib Tech range at Twelve Board Store includes the T-Rice Orca II, T.Rice Apex Orca II, T.Rice Golden Orca, Lib Rig, and DPR — covering everything from progressive all-mountain freeride to freestyle performance. Every board carries Lib Tech's patented Magne-Traction® edge technology, eco-responsible construction, and the handmade quality that only comes from the last snowboard factory still operating on American soil. At Twelve Board Store we've been selling Lib Tech for over 20 years. Our team has ridden these boards in Australia and overseas — if you need help choosing the right board for your riding style, call us on 03 9421 2293 or visit us at 435A Bridge Road, Richmond.
