snowboarding

Park snowboarding is one of the most technical disciplines in the sport, and the most demanding on your gear. The boards in this collection are built specifically for the terrain park: twin-tip shapes that ride switch as naturally as forward, medium-soft flex that pops off lips and absorbs landings, and construction that holds up through sessions rather than one or two hits. We carry park boards from YES, Nitro, K2, Rome and more — in stock at our Richmond showroom, free shipping Australia-wide on orders over $90.

Typically 3 to 6 out of 10, with 4 to 5 the sweet spot for most riders. Softer absorbs landings and presses onto rails easily but loses pop off the lip. Stiffer gives more pop but fights you on features. Rail riders should go softer, jump riders stiffer.
Most park boards use a flat base for maximum edge contact on rails and presses, or a mellow rocker for easier butters and more forgiving takeoffs. Full camber gives maximum pop off the lip but is more demanding and less forgiving of sloppy landings.
Most park riders go 2 to 4cm shorter than their all-mountain board. The shorter length makes spins easier to initiate and the board quicker between tricks.
Softer ones, around 3 to 5 out of 10, so the whole setup stays forgiving and playful. Putting stiff, race-oriented bindings on a soft park board defeats the purpose of buying it.
