Powell Peralta Wheels SSF Snake 69mm/75a | Black
The classic soft Snake for smooth, drifty longboard rides.
Snakes are Powell Peralta's go-to SSF longboard wheel, and the 69mm 75a black version is the softest in this lineup. It's for cruisers, carvers and freeriders who want plenty of grip and comfort, plus a wheel that slides predictably when the hill steepens.
Developed at Powell HQ as a premium slide wheel, the Snake runs Soft Slide Formula over a large centreset core. With a 48mm width and 44mm contact patch it holds a carve, rolls over rough roads and drifts smoothly with a round, forgiving lip.

About Powell Peralta
Powell Peralta was founded in 1978 by engineer George Powell and skater Stacy Peralta in Santa Barbara, California. Powell had already been baking his own urethane wheels and building his own boards since the mid 1970s, and in 1979 the pair formed the Bones Brigade, the team that included Ray "Bones" Rodriguez, Steve Caballero, Tony Hawk, Lance Mountain, Rodney Mullen, Tommy Guerrero and Mike Vallely.
Today Powell Peralta still puts a big focus on urethane research and its own wheel formulas. Dragon Formula covers street and park, while Soft Slide Formula (SSF) covers cruising, freeride and downhill. Riders pick Powell because the wheels last, roll fast and slide when you want them to, and because the brand has been part of skating for close to five decades.
FAQs
What are Snakes wheels best for?
Longboard cruising, carving and freeride. The 75a SSF urethane grips in turns, absorbs rough roads and slides smoothly to control speed. They're also a popular upgrade for cruiser completes with room for big wheels.
What does 75a mean?
75a is the hardness on the A scale, where lower is softer. At 75a these are the softest Snakes, giving the most grip and comfort and a smooth, controlled slide. Powell's firmer 82a Snakes are grippier, with more road feel.
Will 69mm wheels fit my board or do I need risers?
69mm is a longboard size. Drop-through and drop-deck longboards and most boards with wheel wells take them without trouble. On a top-mount board or anything without wheel wells, add risers of around 1/4" to 1/2" to stop wheel bite.
Do they come with bearings?
No. You get a set of 4 wheels with no bearings. Any standard 608 skateboard bearing fits, so you'll need a set of 8 (two per wheel), plus spacers if your bearings don't have them built in.

Why Buy from Twelve Board Store
Twelve Board Store has been riders selling to riders since 2013. We are not a generic retail chain — we are a specialist board sports retailer built around genuine product knowledge, real rider experience and the kind of after-sales support that only comes from a team that actually uses the gear they sell.
Every brand we stock, we ride. Every recommendation we make comes from real experience — on the mountain, in the park, on the street, and on the road. When you call us, you talk to someone who has been on a snowboard at Hotham last weekend or a skateboard in the carpark this morning. That is the difference between buying from Twelve and buying from a warehouse with a website.
We offer services that no online-only retailer can match. Our in-store workshop handles snowboard waxing and tuning, boot heat moulding, electric skateboard and e-bike repairs and assembly, and warranty support handled in-house rather than shipped offshore to a call centre. If something goes wrong with your gear, we fix it. If your boots don't fit, we sort it. If you ordered the wrong size, we swap it — no questions asked.
Our showroom at 435A Bridge Road Richmond stocks the full range across snowboards, bindings, boots, skateboards, longboards, electric skateboards, e-bikes, outerwear and accessories. We offer free shipping Australia-wide on orders over $89, AfterPay and Zip for flexible payment, and fast dispatch so your gear arrives when you need it.
Over a decade in business. More than 1,000 reviews. The most trusted specialist board store in Melbourne. If you need advice before you buy, call us on 03 9421 2293, visit us in-store, or contact us online — we'll get you sorted.
