Powell Peralta Nano Rat Dragon Formula Wheel 88a | 53mmX33mm
V6 Nano Rat: soft Dragon urethane in a 53mm street wheel.
This 53mm Nano Rat uses the V6 shape and 88a Dragon Formula. It's a street wheel for skaters who ride rough streets, crusty parks and everything in between and want one set that handles the lot.
DF-88 is the softest of the Dragon family, with over 82% rebound to keep you rolling. The V6 shape is a symmetrical street profile with a sidecut, 33mm wide, and the extra millimetre over the 52mm gives a little more roll speed without losing quickness.

- 53mm diameter: a touch more roll than 52mm

About Powell Peralta
Powell Peralta was founded in 1978 by engineer George Powell and skater Stacy Peralta in Santa Barbara, California. Powell had already been baking his own urethane wheels and building his own boards since the mid 1970s, and in 1979 the pair formed the Bones Brigade, the team that included Ray "Bones" Rodriguez, Steve Caballero, Tony Hawk, Lance Mountain, Rodney Mullen, Tommy Guerrero and Mike Vallely.
Today Powell Peralta still puts a big focus on urethane research and its own wheel formulas. Dragon Formula covers street and park, while Soft Slide Formula (SSF) covers cruising, freeride and downhill. Riders pick Powell because the wheels last, roll fast and slide when you want them to, and because the brand has been part of skating for close to five decades.
FAQs
What are Nano Rat Dragon wheels best for?
Everyday street skating on mixed surfaces. They glide over rough ground like a soft wheel but slide and pop like a street wheel, which makes them good for crusty spots and pushing between them.
What does 88a mean?
88a is the hardness on the A scale, much softer than a 99a street wheel. Powell's Dragon Formula is tuned to slide like a harder wheel at this hardness, so it stays fun on ledges.
What size wheel should I get?
53mm is a good all-round street size. Go 52mm for the lightest, lowest setup, or 54mm to 56mm for more speed at the park. None of these need risers on a standard popsicle deck with mid trucks.
Do they come with bearings?
No. You get a set of 4 wheels with no bearings. Any standard 608 skateboard bearing fits, so you'll need a set of 8 (two per wheel), plus spacers if your bearings don't have them built in.

Why Buy from Twelve Board Store
Twelve Board Store has been riders selling to riders since 2013. We are not a generic retail chain — we are a specialist board sports retailer built around genuine product knowledge, real rider experience and the kind of after-sales support that only comes from a team that actually uses the gear they sell.
Every brand we stock, we ride. Every recommendation we make comes from real experience — on the mountain, in the park, on the street, and on the road. When you call us, you talk to someone who has been on a snowboard at Hotham last weekend or a skateboard in the carpark this morning. That is the difference between buying from Twelve and buying from a warehouse with a website.
We offer services that no online-only retailer can match. Our in-store workshop handles snowboard waxing and tuning, boot heat moulding, electric skateboard and e-bike repairs and assembly, and warranty support handled in-house rather than shipped offshore to a call centre. If something goes wrong with your gear, we fix it. If your boots don't fit, we sort it. If you ordered the wrong size, we swap it — no questions asked.
Our showroom at 435A Bridge Road Richmond stocks the full range across snowboards, bindings, boots, skateboards, longboards, electric skateboards, e-bikes, outerwear and accessories. We offer free shipping Australia-wide on orders over $89, AfterPay and Zip for flexible payment, and fast dispatch so your gear arrives when you need it.
Over a decade in business. More than 1,000 reviews. The most trusted specialist board store in Melbourne. If you need advice before you buy, call us on 03 9421 2293, visit us in-store, or contact us online — we'll get you sorted.
