Landyachtz Dugout Escape Cruiser Skateboard | 31.5"
Landyachtz Dugout in Escape. 31.5" x 8.5" 7-ply Canadian maple, mild concave, 130mm Polar Bear trucks, 60mm Chubby Hawgs wheels, Spaceball bearings. More wheelbase, more stability, same compact cruiser energy.
The Dugout is Landyachtz's step between the Dinghy family and a full-size cruiser — a compact board with a longer wheelbase than anything else in the compact Landyachtz lineup, giving it a noticeably more stable and planted feel without adding excessive length or losing the agility that makes a cruiser worth riding daily. At 31.5" x 8.5" with a 17.25" wheelbase, it sits wider and longer than a Dinghy Classic while still being short enough to carry under your arm, stash in a bag, or take anywhere. The Escape colourway features artwork by Sarah King — intricate, detailed illustration work that makes this one of the more visually distinctive boards in the Landyachtz range.
The 7-ply Canadian maple deck is sourced from the finest Eastern Canadian veneers, pressed stiff for maximum pop and responsiveness. The mild concave sits just above flat — comfortable for longer sessions without sacrificing the foot lock you need through carves and over obstacles. Sanded wheel wells expand wheel size compatibility well beyond the stock setup. The 130mm Polar Bear trucks are Landyachtz's traditional kingpin truck in their narrower size — matched precisely to the 8.5" deck width with 88a bushings for predictable, controlled turning that feels stable at speed. The 60mm Chubby Hawgs wheels share the same high-quality urethane formula as the Fatty Hawgs but in a smaller diameter — plenty of grip, smooth roll, and enough soft urethane to handle rough pavement without drama.
Landyachtz has been skater-owned and operated out of Vancouver, Canada since 1997. They design their own trucks, pour their own urethane through the Hawgs brand, source only the finest Eastern Canadian maple veneers, and plant a tree for every board sold through their One Board One Tree programme. The Dugout is the right answer for riders who've ridden a Dinghy and wanted just a little more board under their feet.
Why Ride the Landyachtz Dugout Escape?
-
Extended Wheelbase for a Compact Cruiser
At 17.25", the Dugout has the longest wheelbase of any compact board in the Landyachtz lineup; more stability and comfort through speed and carves without adding bulk or sacrificing the portability that makes cruisers worth riding every day. -
8.5" Wide Platform
Wider than the Dinghy Classic and Tugboat; gives you more foot space and a more planted stance without tipping into longboard territory — the right balance for riders who want a genuine underfoot presence. -
7-Ply Canadian Maple Construction — Stiff Flex
Sourced from the finest Eastern Canadian maple veneers; stiff, light, and poppy — built to handle daily riding across real terrain without losing its character over time. -
Mild Concave
Sits just above flat — comfortable for longer sessions and casual cruising, with just enough shape to keep your feet in place when the terrain demands it without being aggressive underfoot. -
130mm Polar Bear Trucks — 88a Bushings
Narrower Polar Bear traditional kingpin trucks matched precisely to the 8.5" deck; consistent, stable turning with 88a bushings that balance agility and control at all speeds. -
60mm Chubby Hawgs Wheels
Same high-quality Hawgs urethane formula as the Fatty Hawgs in a more compact diameter; smooth rolling, grippy when you need it, and sized to work cleanly with the sanded wheel wells on this deck. -
Spaceball Bearings
Built-in washers and spacers mean you can never lose them; bearings are always correctly mated, eliminating bearing-induced chatter and keeping the roll smooth and consistent from the first push. -
Sarah King Artwork
Intricate, detailed illustration work by artist Sarah King — one of the more visually distinctive colourways in the current Landyachtz lineup, a board that earns a second look before you even step on it. -
One Board One Tree
Landyachtz plants a tree for every board sold — a skater-owned brand with a genuine environmental commitment behind every product they ship.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is the difference between a longboard and a cruiser skateboard?
A: A longboard is built for stability — longer distances, sweeping carves, and a planted ride. A cruiser is more compact and portable, with a kicktail for navigating urban terrain and tighter spaces. The choice comes down to how much board you want underfoot and where you're taking it. Not sure? Call us on 03 9421 2293 and we'll sort it out.
Q: What size should I choose?
A: Shorter boards are easier to carry and more manoeuvrable. Longer boards are usually wider, offering more stability and a surf-style feel underfoot. Go shorter for portability, longer for a more flowing and planted ride. Give us a call on 03 9421 2293 and we'll point you in the right direction.
