Frequently Asked Questions

7.75 to 8.25 inch is the all-round sweet spot for most adult riders. Go narrower (7.5 to 7.75) for technical street and smaller feet, wider (8.25 and up) for transition, bowl and larger riders. Shoe size is a good cross-check.

The graphic and team matter to you; the wood matters to the board. Real skate brands use properly pressed 7-ply maple that holds pop and resists delaminating, and across those brands the wood quality is broadly comparable. Choose on the shape spec and the brand you want to support.

Concave is the curve across the width of the deck. Steeper concave grips your feet and helps flip tricks; mellow concave feels more relaxed. Along with wheelbase, it is where the real feel differences between similar-looking decks come from.

It depends how hard and often you skate. Most regular skaters replace a deck every few months, sooner if it chips, cracks, delaminates or loses its pop. A fresh deck is the cheapest way to make an old setup feel new.
