Pint-S thoughts

I've had my new Pint-S now for a week and put about 11 klms on it so far due to a fair bit of rain. The battery is now at 62% and top speed of 16kph as I find 12-15 very comfortable and have no intention of hurting myself any sooner than I have to.
The treaded tire gives more confidence for sure off of the pavement which I do about 50%.
I like the curved foot pads as I like a wide stance and my feet feel more planted than on the Pint. The Fender is also almost a must for me now that I see the difference of gravel and dirt not covering the footpads anymore.
Twelveboard store was very helpful and friendly with the purchase as well.

These were great to use. Forget about ratchets and spend more time going down hill rather than down on your bum tightening your bindings.

The EVA footbed can be modified to fit Alpine Prime bindings so now my Straightline bindings can be used with a Quiver Connector to only take one set of bindings with my resort and splitboard overseas.

Rome Katana AW Snowboard Binding 2027 | Sage

The Cult Favourite. Now Surfier.

The Katana is the binding Rome riders don't give up. For 2027 it moves onto the AsymWrap platform, keeping the light weight and endless adjustability it's known for while adding a surfier, more lively feel underfoot.

Flex sits at 6 to 8 out of 10, from playful to precise, so it's happy buttering a side hit and still bites hard on a heelside carve. The Pivot Mount system gives you 64 strap combinations to dial the fit to your exact boot.

Best for: advanced and expert all-mountain riders who want a lively, tweakable binding that makes any board feel more dialled, from park laps to heavy carves and deep pow.

The Tech and What It Does for Your Day

✅ AsymWrap platform: surfy but highly responsive, with strong board feel and lateral flex for grabs and front-board butters
✅ Pivot Mount system: 8 strap positions per side, 64 combinations in total, to centre the straps on your boot
✅ OmniFlex ankle strap: pre-curved and lightweight for a pressure-free hold
✅ ProGrip toe strap: auxetic web design that grips and wraps the toe box
✅ Forged aluminium heelhoop: locks down heelside carves and lifts power transfer
✅ Adjustable baseplate: min-to-max slider to centre your boot over the board
✅ 2° dual-density footbed: subtle cant for knee alignment, plus cushioning

Not for you if: you're in your first seasons and want a soft, forgiving binding. Look for a softer flex rating instead: browse our men's snowboard bindings and use the flex filter.

FAQs

What's the difference between the Katana AW and the Katana AW FASE?
The Katana AW is a traditional two-strap binding. The FASE version adds a fast-entry system with an auto-snapping highback and set-and-forget straps.

What size Rome Katana AW do I need?
M/L fits US men's 7.5 to 10.5 and L/XL fits 10.5 to 13. On the crossover size, your boot's outer footprint decides it. Bring your boots to 435A Bridge Rd Richmond or call 03 9421 2293.

Is the Rome Katana good for powder?
Yes. The responsive 6 to 8 flex and forged heelhoop drive the board in deep snow, and the AsymWrap platform keeps it surfy.

Is the Katana AW stiff?
It's medium-stiff. Rome rates it 6 to 8 out of 10, playful enough to tweak and precise enough to carve hard.
