Powell Peralta SSF G-Slides Wheels Green 4pk | 56mm / 85a
Smooth the streets out without giving up your street setup.
The SSF G-Slide 4 pack in green, 56mm and 85a. It's aimed at riders who skate everything between home and the park and are sick of rattling over coarse bitumen on hard wheels.
SSF, Powell's Soft Slide Formula, is tuned to roll fast, last a long time and slide predictably. The G-Slide's low, 38mm wide profile fits under nearly any deck, so you get a softer, quieter ride that still feels like a skateboard rather than a cruiser.
Key Features
- Soft Slide Formula: fast rolling and long wearing
- 85a durometer: quiet, cushioned ride on rough ground
- 56mm diameter: street size, usually no risers needed
- Low profile shape: works on street, park and cruiser decks
- Predictable slide: grips in turns, releases when you want
- Set of 4: a full board's worth

About Powell Peralta
Powell Peralta was founded in 1978 by engineer George Powell and skater Stacy Peralta in Santa Barbara, California. Powell had already been baking his own urethane wheels and building his own boards since the mid 1970s, and in 1979 the pair formed the Bones Brigade, the team that included Ray "Bones" Rodriguez, Steve Caballero, Tony Hawk, Lance Mountain, Rodney Mullen, Tommy Guerrero and Mike Vallely.
Today Powell Peralta still puts a big focus on urethane research and its own wheel formulas. Dragon Formula covers street and park, while Soft Slide Formula (SSF) covers cruising, freeride and downhill. Riders pick Powell because the wheels last, roll fast and slide when you want them to, and because the brand has been part of skating for close to five decades.
FAQs
What are SSF G-Slides best for?
Cruising and street skating on rough surfaces with a regular deck. They give you soft-wheel comfort and grip, and the SSF urethane lets them slide, so they're good for transport, carving bowls and slappies.
What does 85a mean?
85a is the hardness on the A scale. Lower numbers are softer and grippier, higher numbers are harder and slidier, and most street wheels sit around 99a to 101a. At 85a these G-Slides soak up cracks and rough bitumen, while the SSF urethane still lets them break into a slide.
Do I need risers for 56mm wheels?
Usually not. 56mm wheels clear most popsicle decks on mid or high trucks. On low trucks or with very loose trucks, a 1/8" riser stops wheel bite.
Do they come with bearings?
No. You get a set of 4 wheels with no bearings. Any standard 608 skateboard bearing fits, so you'll need a set of 8 (two per wheel), plus spacers if your bearings don't have them built in.

Why Buy from Twelve Board Store
Twelve Board Store has been riders selling to riders since 2013. We are not a generic retail chain — we are a specialist board sports retailer built around genuine product knowledge, real rider experience and the kind of after-sales support that only comes from a team that actually uses the gear they sell.
Every brand we stock, we ride. Every recommendation we make comes from real experience — on the mountain, in the park, on the street, and on the road. When you call us, you talk to someone who has been on a snowboard at Hotham last weekend or a skateboard in the carpark this morning. That is the difference between buying from Twelve and buying from a warehouse with a website.
We offer services that no online-only retailer can match. Our in-store workshop handles snowboard waxing and tuning, boot heat moulding, electric skateboard and e-bike repairs and assembly, and warranty support handled in-house rather than shipped offshore to a call centre. If something goes wrong with your gear, we fix it. If your boots don't fit, we sort it. If you ordered the wrong size, we swap it — no questions asked.
Our showroom at 435A Bridge Road Richmond stocks the full range across snowboards, bindings, boots, skateboards, longboards, electric skateboards, e-bikes, outerwear and accessories. We offer free shipping Australia-wide on orders over $89, AfterPay and Zip for flexible payment, and fast dispatch so your gear arrives when you need it.
Over a decade in business. More than 1,000 reviews. The most trusted specialist board store in Melbourne. If you need advice before you buy, call us on 03 9421 2293, visit us in-store, or contact us online — we'll get you sorted.
