Carver C7 Skateboard Trucks | Indigo
The original surfskate truck. Smooth, flowing, pure surf.
The Carver C7 is the truck that started surfskating, here in Indigo. Its front truck sits on an extended, spring-loaded swing arm that gives the hanger a second axis, so you can snap the nose, pivot off the tail and pump to build speed just like a surfboard on a wave. It suits surfers training on land and anyone who wants the purest surf feel.
The C7 has a wider, more flowing turning arc than the CX, similar to a single-fin or retro twin-fin. A hidden spring compresses as you turn, and an adjuster nut lets you tighten it if the truck feels too loose. The set pairs the C7 front with Carver's C2 rear and comes with front and rear riser pads and mounting hardware.

What Size Board Does It Fit?
Carver's CX and C7 truck sets both have a 9" axle. Surfskate trucks usually sit a little narrower than the deck, and Carver runs these on its own completes with decks around 9.75"–10" wide, so as a general guide they suit boards around 9.5" to 10.5" wide.
| Truck set | Axle width | Best board width |
|---|---|---|
| CX front + C2 rear | 9" | About 9.5"–10.5" |
| C7 front + C2 rear | 9" | About 9.5"–10.5" |
Board range is general guidance. Carver's own surfskate completes run these trucks on decks around 9.75"–10" wide.
About Carver Skateboards
Carver Skateboards was founded in 1996 in Venice, California, by surfers Neil Stratton and Greg Falk. They wanted a board that felt like surfing on land, so they built the C7: a front truck on a pivoting swing arm that lets the board pump and carve like a surfboard on a wave. That truck started the surfskate category, and Carver calls it the original surfskate.
Around 2005 Carver added the CX, a lighter, snappier reverse-kingpin truck that became its most popular system. Three decades on, Carver still designs out of Culver City, California, and surfers around the world use Carvers to train between sessions. Plenty of skaters ride them simply because carving a Carver is that much fun.
FAQs
What size board do the Carver C7 trucks fit?
Carver's C7 set has a 9" axle, which suits surfskate decks about 9.5" to 10.5" wide. Carver's own completes run it on decks around 9.75"–10". Match the truck to your deck so the wheels sit close to the rails.
C7 or CX: which Carver truck should I get?
C7 has a longer, smoother, more flowing turn and is the pick for surfers who want the most surf-like feel. CX is tighter, snappier and more stable at speed, so it suits first-timers and skatepark riders.
The C7 feels twitchy. How do I tighten it?
Use the adjuster nut on the swing arm to add spring tension, a little at a time. A firmer spring makes the truck calmer and easier to control while you learn, and you can loosen it again as your pumping improves.
Do I need risers with Carver C7 trucks?
Yes, risers are included and Carver recommends running them. The C7 turns a long way, so wheels around 65–70mm can touch the deck without them. Mount with the bolts supplied in the box.
Do I get both trucks?
Yes. It's a full set: one C7 front truck and one C2 rear truck, enough for one board, plus risers and hardware. Wheels and bearings are sold separately.

Simply put, a surfskate is a skateboard for surfing the street. Surfskates use special trucks that enable riders to mimic the movements, feel, and flow of surfing. Surfskates were originally invented by surfers who wanted something to do on flat days. As time has passed, surf skating has proven to be one of the most enduring passions of skaters and surfers alike. Whether you love to skate or surf, surfskating is the closest experience you can get to gliding down and carving a wave.
