Pint-S thoughts

I've had my new Pint-S now for a week and put about 11 klms on it so far due to a fair bit of rain. The battery is now at 62% and top speed of 16kph as I find 12-15 very comfortable and have no intention of hurting myself any sooner than I have to.
The treaded tire gives more confidence for sure off of the pavement which I do about 50%.
I like the curved foot pads as I like a wide stance and my feet feel more planted than on the Pint. The Fender is also almost a must for me now that I see the difference of gravel and dirt not covering the footpads anymore.
Twelveboard store was very helpful and friendly with the purchase as well.

These were great to use. Forget about ratchets and spend more time going down hill rather than down on your bum tightening your bindings.

The EVA footbed can be modified to fit Alpine Prime bindings so now my Straightline bindings can be used with a Quiver Connector to only take one set of bindings with my resort and splitboard overseas.

Spark ST Whammy Bars

Smoother Climbing on the Skin Track.

The ST Whammy Bars are the ST Tech version of Spark R&D's Whammy Bars. A section of the wire is overmoulded with a thermoplastic blend where it meets the baseplate, so switching heights is smoother.

They keep the dual-height function, with stowed, 12° and 18° positions, and are sold as a spare or replacement for Spark ST bindings.

Best for: Spark ST binding owners who need a spare or replacement climbing wire.

The Tech and What It Does for Your Day

✅ ST Tech overmoulding: thermoplastic where the wire meets the baseplate for smoother position changes
✅ Dual height: stowed, 12° and 18° positions
✅ Light: 38 g per pair

Not for you if: you ride older Arc, Surge or other pre-ST T1 bindings. These aren't backward compatible: browse our splitboard parts and accessories for the right part.

Spec Sheet

Model: Spark ST Whammy Bars
Positions: Stowed, 12°, 18°
Compatibility: Spark ST bindings only, not backward compatible with Arc, Surge or other previous models
Weight: 38 g per pair (per Spark)

FAQs

Will ST Whammy Bars fit my older Spark bindings?
No. Spark changed the baseplate and wire geometry, so ST Whammy Bars only fit ST bindings. Older T1 bindings use standard Whammy Bars.

What heights do they give?
Stowed, a low 12° position and a high 18° position.

Not sure which part you need?
Bring your bindings into 435A Bridge Rd Richmond or call 03 9421 2293 and we'll match the right part.

About Spark R&D

Spark R&D was founded in 2006 in Bozeman, Montana, and builds splitboard bindings and touring hardware in-house. Its Tesla T1 system and ST Tech touring parts are built around one goal: faster, smoother transitions and more reliable gear on the skin track.
