The Vertical ST is Nitro's answer to long days of breaking trail and the descents that pay for them. It's an ultra-light splitboard binding that rides smooth and controlled, then switches from hiking to riding lightning fast, even when it's cold and icy and your fingers have stopped cooperating. Nitro rates it 8/10 for response and 7/10 for comfort, and calls it the most sought-after splitboard binding going.

It's built on the proven Spark R&D Tesla T1 base with an upgraded EVA pad for support on the skin track and a stable ride on the way down. Nitro's 3D OptiFrame Flex strap, Übergrip PRO toe strap, Speed Wheel 3.0 buckles and cable reinforced ratchets complete the package, and Nitro says the buckle and strap setup alone saves 140 g. This is the Black colourway: stealthy, clean and ready for the backcountry.

What size Vertical ST do I need?
Nitro sizes the Medium for 6.0 to 9.5 US Men's (6.5 to 10.0 US Women's) and the Large for 10.0 to 13.5 US Men's. If you're on the line between sizes, bring your boots in or call us on 03 9421 2293 and we'll check the fit with you.

Will the Vertical ST fit my snowboard?
No, this is a splitboard binding. It mounts to a splitboard using splitboard pucks, which are sold separately (Nitro offers Standard and Canted Pucks). It won't mount to a regular solid snowboard.

What comes in the box?
SmoothTravel Touring Brackets, T1 Heel Rests, mounting screws and the Spark Tool. Spark Crampons and pucks are sold separately, so factor them in if you're building a setup from scratch.

How quick are the transitions?
Quick. The Spark R&D Tesla T1 system is designed for fast, simple switches between touring and riding mode, and Nitro built it to keep working in cold and icy conditions. Less faffing at the top, more time riding.
