Test ride before you buy

This is the thing worth making the trip for, and almost nobody else in Melbourne offers it across both categories.

Electric bikes and boards vary enormously in ways that do not show up in specifications. How the assist comes on. Whether the acceleration is smooth or abrupt. How the weight sits when you are stopped at lights. What the brakes actually feel like. Two bikes with near-identical spec sheets can feel completely different underneath you.

We keep demo bikes and boards on the floor, and you can ride them. Ten minutes on two different bikes back to back tells you more than a week of reading.

We would rather you rode three and bought the right one than ordered the wrong one and sent it back.

The electric workshop

Frosty runs our workshop at Richmond. He services, repairs and maintains every brand we sell, across electric skateboards, Onewheels, fat tyre e-bikes and electric scooters.

What we do Typical jobs
Electric skateboards Belt replacement and tensioning, bearings, trucks, remote pairing issues, motor diagnostics
Onewheel Tyre replacement, footpad issues, rail and fender fitting, battery testing
Fat tyre e-bikes Brake bleeds and adjustment, wheel truing, drivetrain, battery diagnostics, error code faults
All electric Firmware updates, connector faults, general servicing, warranty assessment

We carry parts for the brands we stock, which is the difference between a fix happening this week and a fix waiting on a distributor. We also handle warranty claims on your behalf for the brands we are authorised dealers for, rather than leaving you to argue with an overseas support address.

Bring it in and we will look at it with you. A good share of what arrives here is a loose connector, a flat remote or a battery that has been left flat, and we will tell you that rather than sell you parts.

Full service details and how to book

Fat tyre electric bikes

We stock across both categories, and the difference matters more than most buyers realise.

EN15194 certified bikes run a 250W continuous motor, pedal assist, capped at 25km/h, and are legal on Victorian roads and shared paths. If you are riding the Capital City Trail, Bay Trail, Yarra Trail or bike lanes, this is the category you need.

Off-road unrestricted builds have more power and higher speeds, and are for private property and off-road use rather than public paths.

Brands on the floor: Fatboy, Super73, FlightRisk and Amp'd Bros. Demo bikes available across the range.

Electric skateboards and Onewheels

The strongest electric board range in Melbourne, and we ride them.

Evolve, Australian designed, belt drive, in bamboo and carbon deck options, with street and all-terrain wheel configurations. We have been an Evolve dealer since 2015 and we are an official Evolve repair centre.

Onewheel, the self balancing single wheel that riders describe as the closest thing to snowboarding on concrete. Across the Pint, XR and GT platforms.

Exway for high performance belt and direct drive builds, and Summerboard for the binding-based carve feel nothing else delivers.

All available to try at the showroom. We will get you rolling rather than just handing you a board.

Worth sorting before you buy, not after, and it is the single most common thing people get wrong.

E-bikes. An EN15194 certified bike is legal on Victorian roads, bike lanes and shared paths, which opens up the whole connected path network. An unrestricted bike is not, regardless of which mode you ride it in.

Electric skateboards and Onewheels. The rules differ by state and Victoria is more restrictive than most riders expect. We will give you the honest version rather than the one that closes a sale.

Visiting us FAQ

Can you test ride an electric bike or skateboard in Melbourne?

Yes. We keep demo bikes and boards at 435A Bridge Road, Richmond, open seven days, and you can ride them before deciding. Ten minutes on two different bikes or boards settles more than any spec sheet, particularly on how the power comes on.

Do you repair electric skateboards and e-bikes in Melbourne?

Yes, in house at our Richmond store. Frosty runs our electric workshop and services every brand we sell, including belt replacement, Onewheel tyre changes, battery diagnostics, brake work and warranty assessments. Nothing gets sent interstate.

Where is your electric bike shop in Melbourne?

435A Bridge Road, Richmond VIC 3121, about two kilometres east of the CBD on the south side of Bridge Road. Open Monday to Friday 10am to 5:30pm, Saturday 10am to 5pm and Sunday 11am to 4pm.

Can I ride a fat tyre e-bike on Melbourne bike paths?

Only if it is EN15194 certified. A certified bike is legal on the Capital City Trail, Bay Trail, Yarra Trail and connected paths. An unrestricted bike is not, whichever mode you ride it in, and that catches a lot of buyers out.

Do you service electric bikes you did not sell?

Call us and describe what you have. We service the brands we stock and carry parts for them, so those are straightforward. For other brands it depends on whether parts can be sourced, and we will tell you honestly before you make the trip.

Do you offer Afterpay on electric bikes and boards?

Yes, we accept Afterpay and Zip in store and online across electric bikes, boards and accessories. That covers demo purchases too, so you can ride one, decide, and pay it down over time.
