Rome SDS (Snowboard Design Syndicate) is a rider-owned Vermont brand that has built a cult following on smart, no-nonsense all-mountain and freestyle gear — especially its bindings, with the legendary 390 Boss a long-running favourite. At Twelve Board Store we carry the Rome range across boards and bindings, in stock at our Richmond showroom and shipping free on orders over $90.
Rome was founded in 2001 in Waterbury, Vermont, by riders who wanted a brand driven by feedback from the people actually riding the gear, hence the Snowboard Design Syndicate name. It has stayed independent and rider-focused ever since, with a reputation for durable, thoughtfully designed product that performs without marketing fluff. Rome riders tend to be a loyal bunch, and the bindings in particular have a reputation as some of the best-built in the sport.
Who is Rome for?
Riders who want capable, durable all-mountain and freestyle gear with real substance. The board range leans towards all-mountain and park-friendly shapes for intermediate and advanced riders, and the binding range, led by the iconic 390 Boss, is a genuine reason people choose the brand. If you want bindings that last and adjust easily, Rome is one of the first we will point you to. Best suited to progressing through advanced riders who want gear with character.
Why are Rome bindings so well regarded?
Durability and adjustability. The 390 Boss has been a benchmark for years thanks to its tool-less adjustment, tough construction and a feel that suits everything from park to all-mountain charging. Rome bindings are built to last seasons and to be tweaked to your preference easily, which is exactly why so many riders choose the brand for the bindings first and the boards second. Our bindings guide covers how to choose.
What does Rome make across the range?
390 Boss bindings — the flagship: highly adjustable, durable, tool-less, with a reputation for lasting seasons.
Boards — all-mountain and freestyle shapes across camber and hybrid profiles, built for versatility and pop.
Rider-driven design — the whole approach is iterating product based on team and customer feedback, which is what SDS stands for.

Pint-S thoughts
I've had my new Pint-S now for a week and put about 11 klms on it so far due to a fair bit of rain. The battery is now at 62% and top speed of 16kph as I find 12-15 very comfortable and have no intention of hurting myself any sooner than I have to.
The treaded tire gives more confidence for sure off of the pavement which I do about 50%.
I like the curved foot pads as I like a wide stance and my feet feel more planted than on the Pint. The Fender is also almost a must for me now that I see the difference of gravel and dirt not covering the footpads anymore.
Twelveboard store was very helpful and friendly with the purchase as well.

Burton step on bindings
These were great to use. Forget about ratchets and spend more time going down hill rather than down on your bum tightening your bindings.
