Z-Flex Surf-A-Gogo Longboard | 38"
A sharper pintail with 1960s Venice surf style.
The Surf-a-gogo Longboard is a 38" pintail with a sharper, more aggressive outline. The Surf-a-gogo series celebrates 1960s Venice Beach surf culture and fashion, inspired by a surf contest held under the Pacific Ocean Pier. It's made for the daily commute, surf checks and relaxed carving, and suits riders of every level.
The 7-ply deck runs Z-Flex 45° 180mm reverse kingpin trucks, powder-coated, which sit lower and feel more stable than standard trucks, with soft 90A cushions for smooth turning. Big, soft 69mm 83A longboard wheels roll easily over rough footpaths. The pintail shape keeps the wheels clear of the deck, so you can lean into long, surfy carves.

About Z-Flex
Z-Flex is one of skateboarding's original brands. It was started in 1976 by Kent Sherwood, Jay Adams's stepfather, a fibreglass craftsman who had been building boards for the Zephyr team in Dogtown, the Santa Monica and Venice Beach stretch of the California coast. When Sherwood split from Zephyr he took Jay Adams and a handful of Z-Boys with him under the name EZ-Ryder, and within six months the brand became Z-Flex.
Z-Flex lays claim to the first skateboard with a concave top and to a smoother-riding wheel that helped shape the soft wheels most riders use today. Its current range still draws straight from that history: the P.O.P, Ruins to Roses, Banana Train, Surf-a-gogo and Aragon Cheetah series all take their stories from Pacific Ocean Park and the Dogtown scene. Riders choose Z-Flex for easy-riding cruisers, longboards and surfskates with real heritage, set up to be fun from the first push.
FAQs
What is the Z-Flex Surf-a-gogo Longboard best for?
Cruising, carving and short to medium commutes. The pintail shape and reverse kingpin trucks give long, surfy turns, and the soft 69mm wheels make rough footpaths comfortable. It's a great surf-check board.
Is a 38" longboard the right size for me?
It suits most teens and adults. At 38" long and 9" wide with a 27.25" wheelbase, it's long enough for a stable, flowing ride but still easy to carry. Taller riders or anyone after maximum stability for long commutes can step up to a 41.5" Z-Flex drop-through, while a 31" surfskate is the pick for tighter, surfier turns.
Is the Surf-a-gogo Longboard good for beginners?
Yes. The long deck, low reverse kingpin trucks and soft 69mm wheels are stable and forgiving, so it's an easy board to learn pushing and carving on.
What's the difference between drop-through and top-mount?
The Surf-a-gogo Longboard is a top-mount: the trucks bolt under the deck, so you stand a little higher and get more leverage over the trucks. That makes it carvier and more responsive, which suits relaxed cruising and surf-style turns. A drop-through sits lower for extra stability and easier pushing on long commutes, so pick the Z-Flex 41.5" drop-through range if distance is your priority.
Can I commute on the Surf-a-gogo Longboard?
Yes. The soft 69mm wheels roll over cracks and rough footpaths and hold their speed, and the reverse kingpin trucks keep it steady. It's not as compact as a cruiser, so it's a little bulkier on crowded transport.
Does it come ready to ride?
Yes. It arrives fully assembled with griptape, trucks, wheels and bearings installed. Just check the truck tightness suits you and go ride.
