Z-Flex P.O.P Purple Fade Cruiser | 27"
A purple fade on Z-Flex's best-selling cruiser line.
The P.O.P Purple Fade Cruiser is part of Z-Flex's redesigned P.O.P range, a reissue of the brand's best-selling boards of all time. The name comes from Pacific Ocean Park, the Venice Beach pier at the heart of the Z-Boys story, and the look draws on 1970s Dogtown hot-rod and graffiti culture. The purple fade gives it a bold, retro finish. It suits kids, teens and adults who want a compact board for everyday cruising.
It's built on Z-Flex's compact 27" cruiser shape: a 7-ply maple deck with a kicktail, 5" Z-Flex trucks with soft 90A cushions, 14mm riser blocks and soft 83A Z-Smooth wheels. It turns quickly, rolls smoothly over rough footpaths and is light enough to carry anywhere.

About Z-Flex
Z-Flex is one of skateboarding's original brands. It was started in 1976 by Kent Sherwood, Jay Adams's stepfather, a fibreglass craftsman who had been building boards for the Zephyr team in Dogtown, the Santa Monica and Venice Beach stretch of the California coast. When Sherwood split from Zephyr he took Jay Adams and a handful of Z-Boys with him under the name EZ-Ryder, and within six months the brand became Z-Flex.
Z-Flex lays claim to the first skateboard with a concave top and to a smoother-riding wheel that helped shape the soft wheels most riders use today. Its current range still draws straight from that history: the P.O.P, Ruins to Roses, Banana Train, Surf-a-gogo and Aragon Cheetah series all take their stories from Pacific Ocean Park and the Dogtown scene. Riders choose Z-Flex for easy-riding cruisers, longboards and surfskates with real heritage, set up to be fun from the first push.
FAQs
What is the Z-Flex P.O.P Purple Fade Cruiser best for?
Getting around town on a small, easy board. It's light, quick to turn and smooth on rough footpaths thanks to the soft wheels and risers. It's a fun pick for short trips, the beach and the park.
Is a 27" cruiser the right size for me?
It's a compact cruiser that suits kids, teens, lighter adults and anyone who wants a board that's easy to carry. The P.O.P Purple Fade is 27.5" long and 7.875" wide, so it turns quickly and fits under a desk or in a locker. If you want a little more room to stand, step up to a Z-Flex 29" cruiser.
Is the P.O.P Purple Fade good for beginners?
Yes. It's light, soft-wheeled and easy to steer, and Z-Flex designs this shape for all levels. Smaller riders find the compact deck especially easy to control.
Cruiser vs skateboard: what's the difference?
A cruiser is built for rolling, not flip tricks. The P.O.P Purple Fade runs soft 83A Z-Smooth wheels on riser blocks, so it's smoother, quieter and grippier on rough footpaths than a street skateboard's small hard wheels. The shape is made for comfortable pushing and carving, with a kicktail for kick turns and getting up kerbs.
Can I commute on the P.O.P Purple Fade?
Yes, for short hops. The soft wheels smooth out most footpaths and the 27" deck is easy to carry onto a tram or into class. For long daily distances or very rough roads, a bigger longboard will be less tiring.
Does it come ready to ride?
Yes. It arrives fully assembled with griptape, trucks, wheels and bearings installed. Just check the truck tightness suits you and go ride.
