The Onewheel S1 Retro Helmet is S1's Retro Lifer in Onewheel branding, with that classic over-ear moto look. It's made for Onewheel riders who want a helmet that looks the part and carries real certification, and it works just as well for skating and cruising.

S1 builds the Retro Lifer with its EPS Fusion Foam, formulated to handle multiple small knocks as well as a single big hit. S1 certifies it to ASTM F1492 for skateboarding and CPSC 1203 for bike riding. Added ear coverage and a deep fit design keep it low and secure, and swappable sizing liners fine-tune the fit.

Size Guide

Wrap a soft tape measure around your head about 2cm above your eyebrows, at the widest point, and pick the size closest to your measurement. S1 sizes in inches; the cm figures are conversions. Between sizes? The two sizing liners supplied let you go a little tighter or looser, and we can help you check the fit in store.

Each size ships with two sizing liners of different thickness, so you can go tighter or looser. S1 colour-codes its liners by size and sells an optional Fit Kit with 7 sizing liners and 2 top pads.

Yes. S1 certifies the Retro Lifer to ASTM F1492 for skateboarding (multi-impact) and CPSC 1203, the US bicycle standard accepted in Australia for bike and e-bike riding. It's a solid all-round lid for Onewheel, skate and bike.

What size Onewheel S1 Retro Helmet should I get?
Measure around your head about 2cm above your eyebrows and match it to the chart, from XS (20.5", about 52cm) to 3XL (23.5", about 60cm). The two sizing liners supplied let you fine-tune the fit between neighbouring sizes.

When should I replace my helmet?
Replace it after any big, hard impact, even if it looks fine. The Retro's EPS Fusion foam is certified to handle multiple small knocks, but a serious slam can still compress the liner beyond what it can recover from. Swap it out too if the shell cracks, the foam dents or the straps wear.

Is the Onewheel S1 Retro good for Onewheel riding?
It's a certified skate and bike helmet with extra ear coverage, which is why a lot of Onewheel riders like it for cruising. For high-speed riding, consider a full-face helmet that also protects your chin and face.
