Doc Meter Flexmeter Double Sided Wrist Guard
The doctor-designed wrist guard that protects without locking your wrist up.
The Flexmeter Double Sided is the wrist guard designed with a French trauma surgeon and now made under Demon. Rigid bracing on both sides of the wrist protects the heel of the hand and stops it bending too far, while a progressive hinge lets it move naturally so you can still grip, push up and strap in.
D3O impact protection is built in at the wrist: soft at rest, it locks up on impact to absorb the hit. A flexible dorsal thermoplastic splint, neoprene sleeve and double wrap straps keep it secure, and the palm skid plate is removable. It's made for snowboarding first, and also suits skiing, inline skating and roller derby.
Key Features
- Double sided bracing: rigid support on the palm and back of the wrist to limit over-bending
- Progressive hinge: more natural wrist movement than a fixed splint
- D3O impact protection: soft and flexible, hardens on impact to absorb energy
- Flexible dorsal thermoplastic: Flexmeter's Hytrel splint along the back of the wrist
- Removable skid plate: take it out for a slimmer fit under snow gloves
- Double wrap straps: secure, adjustable hold
- Doctor designed: developed with trauma surgeon Dr. Binet

Size Guide
Flexmeter sizes by hand circumference (around the palm at the knuckles, thumb excluded) and hand length (wrist crease to the tip of the middle finger). Use the chart to find your size; the splint length shows how far the brace runs along your forearm.
| Size | Hand circumference | Hand length | Splint length |
|---|---|---|---|
| S | Under 16cm | 15–17.5cm | 170mm |
| M | 16–20cm | 17.5–20cm | 210mm |
| L | Over 20cm | Over 20cm | 230mm |
Flexmeter recommends removing the palm skid plate when you wear the guard under snow gloves, as the plate is mainly designed for street sports. Flexmeter also makes over-gloves and over-mitts to fit over the guard.
About Flexmeter
Flexmeter started in France as a division of Docmeter, with the brace credited to trauma surgeon Dr. Binet. The idea was simple: stop the wrist bending back too far in a fall, without locking it up so you can still grip, push up and ride normally. Its splint is made from DuPont Hytrel thermoplastic and the design is covered by a US design patent.
Demon (Demon International) bought Flexmeter and its IP in 2013 and took it worldwide through a distribution network that covered around 30 countries at the time. Today it's a doctor-designed wrist guard for snowboarders who take their wrists seriously.
FAQs
What size Flexmeter Double Sided Wrist Guard should I get?
Measure your hand circumference around the knuckles and your hand length, then match them to the chart: S is under 16cm around, M is 16–20cm and L is over 20cm. If your two measurements point to different sizes, our general tip is to go with hand length so the splint covers the right length of forearm.
Can I wear Flexmeter wrist guards under snowboard gloves?
Yes. Take the removable palm skid plate out first for a slimmer fit, then pull your glove over the top. If your gloves are tight, Flexmeter's over-gloves and over-mitts are cut to go over the guard.
What's the difference between single and double sided Flexmeter?
The single sided has bracing on one side only. The double sided has rigid bracing on both the palm and back of the wrist, for more support. It's the one to pick if you ride park or fall hard.
Is it a Doc Meter or a Demon wrist guard?
Both names are right. Flexmeter began as a division of French company Docmeter, and Demon bought the brand and its IP, so you'll see it sold as Demon Flexmeter. It's the same doctor-designed guard.
Should I replace wrist guards after a big crash?
Check them after any hard fall. If the splint is cracked or bent, a strap is torn or the D3O is damaged, replace them, because they won't support your wrist the same way.

Why Buy from Twelve Board Store
Twelve Board Store has been riders selling to riders since 2013. We are not a generic retail chain — we are a specialist board sports retailer built around genuine product knowledge, real rider experience and the kind of after-sales support that only comes from a team that actually uses the gear they sell.
Every brand we stock, we ride. Every recommendation we make comes from real experience — on the mountain, in the park, on the street, and on the road. When you call us, you talk to someone who has been on a snowboard at Hotham last weekend or a skateboard in the carpark this morning. That is the difference between buying from Twelve and buying from a warehouse with a website.
We offer services that no online-only retailer can match. Our in-store workshop handles snowboard waxing and tuning, boot heat moulding, electric skateboard and e-bike repairs and assembly, and warranty support handled in-house rather than shipped offshore to a call centre. If something goes wrong with your gear, we fix it. If your boots don't fit, we sort it. If you ordered the wrong size, we swap it — no questions asked.
Our showroom at 435A Bridge Road Richmond stocks the full range across snowboards, bindings, boots, skateboards, longboards, electric skateboards, e-bikes, outerwear and accessories. We offer free shipping Australia-wide on orders over $89, AfterPay and Zip for flexible payment, and fast dispatch so your gear arrives when you need it.
