The Venture story

Venture is part of Deluxe Distribution in San Francisco, alongside Thunder, Spitfire and Real. The brand has a long-standing reputation for stability and consistency: trucks that hold a line, grind reliably and stand up to hard street skating, with a strong, loyal pro team. For a lot of skaters, Venture is the no-fuss, get-it-done truck they keep coming back to.

What size Venture trucks do you need?

Match the truck width to your deck width so the wheels sit roughly flush with the edges. As a guide, Venture 5.0 suits decks around 7.75 to 8.0 inch, 5.2 suits 8.0 to 8.25, and 5.6 and up suits 8.25 to 8.5 and wider. Tell us your deck width and we will match it, or we sort it when you build a custom complete.

Venture Hi or Lo?

Venture comes in two heights. Lo sits closer to the deck for a lower centre of gravity, more stability and easier flip tricks, and pairs best with smaller wheels (around 50 to 53mm). Hi gives more ground clearance and a touch more turn, and suits larger wheels (54mm and up) and more all-round or transition skating. Most technical street skaters run Lo.

Standard, V-Hollow or Titanium?

All share Venture's geometry, so they turn and grind the same, the difference is weight and price. Standard is the classic tough, reliable build. V-Hollow uses a hollow kingpin and axle to shave weight. Titanium is the lightest for skaters chasing minimum weight. Pick based on how much you value light weight versus cost.

Thunder or Venture?

Both are Deluxe trucks and both are excellent, so it comes down to feel. Venture is known for a stable, planted, dependable feel that holds a line well; Thunder for a lighter, quicker, more responsive turn. Neither is wrong. If you want rock-solid stability go Venture, if you want quick and light go Thunder, and we are happy to talk you through it.
